1) sheet metal intakes in or out dont matter to me.
2) TA alum block should be allowed (cause I own one)
3) No stepping, sleaving, Welding etc. of the compresser housing
4) 10.8" or 11" tire tread measured

Exhaust must exit behind rear with a full tailpipe
I like this in a limited class,Outlaw class can change their rule
TUrbos must have standard t4 flange housings,No cantelopte housings

Waaaaaaa There is no TSO plans in my future. Full exhaust that exits in front of right rear tire. Stock location turbos that are in the battery location. They are talking greek cause its Nothing I have ever seen on any GN. That stuff aint for me. I could really care less cantolope, orange or potato housing makes no difference I will run what is legal. But My one vote is for the cantolope " class="inlineimg" /> .

Let the sheet metal intakes in as guys who built their cars years ago had no other choice for an aftermarket intake.
Take care, Kip

I agree " class="inlineimg" />

A good rule may be any stock appearing intake allowed. Stock appearing being defined as any intake with stock throttle body location and orientation with port connfiguration for production style heads. I think this would allow people with an older sheetmetal on center setups in and prevent some new crazy design or configuration that would bend the rules and get away for the intent of the class. Also, with a forward facing TB the benefit of a custom sheetmetal intake over the currently available cast intakes is going to be minimal at best so there will be little incentive for someone to do it.

How bout the fiberglass being allowed, lots of us have doors and trunk lids already, as long as we make weight, what diff does it make. In the northeast, it impossible to find good stock doors.

As for the cantelope, thats not fair since only a few may have them, that would knock out all other turbo manufacturers.

The intent of this class was to relax the rules of TSE so more racers could have a place to run. If the sheet metal intake is allowed whether it is a performance gain or not it still strays from the original goal to keep the cars as close to original TSE. This was what Richard Lassiter suggested and why he gave the ok to try to form the class. NO ONE wants change their car but inorder to fit the rules you may have to. If not there are other classes your car would be legal for.

Jack, come on down to Florida plenty of good doors here. The steel trunk lid would help weight distribution anyway.

What turbo would you suggest for the class???? It should compare to other venders with simular turbos

TSL Rules

Hey guys, what do you think of the GTS housing being legal in this class? I like this housing as it is not as large as the cantaloupe. This is my preference.

I don't like the idea of a sheetmetal intake.

Garret makes (5) 4 bolt housings inluding the GTS that is available to all turbo vendors. I will supply the part numbers in a couple of days. Option 2 could be to allow any T04 mounting turbo and limit the downpipe to 3.5 or maybe 3" on the PTE cantoloupe. This would level the field per every turbo manufacture I called today.

Tried that already Gary, car is done and painted and honestly don't see any reason to incur the added expense to change it. The bottom line is if the car makes weight, why not allow it? As for the turbo, any 76 with a true T4 housing, we already know from past experience what can be down with the cantelope housing.......... it would be a joke to go down that road again. You and I both know, as well as others the advantages there.

Looks like this class is picking up speed. How about only allowing 5 spark plug wires if you run the dreaded cantaloupe.
