I am new at this also, and will be replacing some wheel studs that are too short for my open end lug nuts. The lug nuts I have were labeled 12 mm, but they could be 1/2" English also on other cars. Just buy some different size lug nuts to try out if yours is not labeled. If you are drag racing and running into the 11s, might consider longer wheel studs and upgraded axles also. The wheel studs come in either long or short sizes depending on your application.

Your wheel stud size is 12MM X 1.5. There is a big difference between 12mm and 1/2" so there is no way these will interchange. On GM vehicles if you look on the end of the stud yours should have the letter M(metric) on it and if its new enough and you see the letter S(standard) than that is a 7/16" size. Everybody should stock these because they are pretty much used on every GM car.
