im new to the forum so let me introduce myself...my name is Jay(but everyone calls me CutThroat), im from Califonia, and i love my buicks! but enough about me, lets get to the good part.

ok...so 6 years ago when i was 19 i purchased my first car. a stock 1970 buick skylark 350. it came with the small two barrel carb and it wouldnt hold a good idle. so i took the intake and carb out and replaced it with a TA performance stage one intake manifold and a edelbrock 650. i then enjoyed it for like a year. since then it has been sitting in my dads garage collecting dust....to make a long story short, i want to start building it again but i dont know where to start. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks....my goal is about 500hp.

www.xsperformance.net This plus a good flowing exhaust with 1 3/4" header if you have a sound motor to put it on. What condition is the 350 and how many miles are on it?? If you decide to go the supercharger route, you will also need a good carburator hat and I would recommend a CSU blow-thru Holley Carb. No intercooler needed for 6-7 pounds of boost and you will have your 500Hp. Best thing about it is you get to keep the compression low and a mild cam. There is more to it all but first need to know what your willing to do, whats the budget, and how much are you looking at driving it?

I would start with the exhaust. Get a set of 1 3/4" headers and 3" exhaust. AT least a 3" X-pipe that comes off the headers at 3" and drops to 2 1/2" after the "X" crossover. Plus a shift kit for the 350.

thanks for the input, but i have bad news for my 350...i just found out that its getting very low compression in two cylinders. the dash reads 96367, but i dont know if thats 196367, 296367, or 996367. either way this motor is tired. so damn... before i start adding power adders im going to have to get it healthy enough to handle more power. so time for an overhaul!

...one quick question. whats the difference between my motor and a GS350 motor?

The only difference between your motor and a GS motor is pistons, cam, and 4barrel intake. So there not worth chasing down. Sorry to hear about you weak cylinders.

Pull the motor apart and throw good set of light pistons along with late model 76 and later cap screw rods and of coarse rebalance the rotating assembly. Have the heads ported while its apart. Install the newer style grooved cam bearings, a good street cam, and headers. Now all you need is some money and a good machine shop.
