Hey guys.
I wish that I could have join you this past weekend at Reynolds but work duty was calling my name. I did however take the car to the track for 2nd time since BG to race at the Buick / Ford Shootout in Oklahoma City on 10/29. The air conditions were right with low 70's temp 30% humidity factoring a 800 density altitude.
The last time I took the car out to the track was a couple weeks after BG with a density altitude of 3000+ 90deg and 60 to 70% humidity doesnt do us justice. I had it set conservative of 22psi and was running 6.7's @ 101 with mid 1.5 60fts.
Now lets fast forward to October. First pass I was trying to get a baseline with the car so I took a 1/2 turn out of the controller and figured for 18psi. Well...thats where my judgement was WRONG!!!! :owned: I launched the bad boy at 20psi giving me a lil moon shot to the sky but setting it back easily for a new best of 1.44 60ft.. OK...that wasnt so bad I glance at the boost gauge after the 1/8 and see it setting at 25psi. Oh yeah baby this thing is pulling hard!!! :racer: I pick up my time slip and what do you know. A 10.24 @ 131 with a 6.49 @ 105 1/8 is glaring at me. :arco: I checked the FAST log and it was showing 24 psi. Not too shabby Id say!
I make another pass but ended up with a wiring problem with the transbrake and line lock doh!!! I took a pass with the foot brake and ran a 10.75 @ 125with 19 psi.
I found the problem with the wiring the next day as it came disconnected from the fuse block. :twak: I had to replace the header gaskets prior to the qualifying run as they blowing out pretty easy right now. Anyways I qualified in the top 15 out of 96 pairings with a 10.71 @ 126. The final race was no where even close even though we both qualifed with a 10.71. I ran a 10.32 @ 130 with 23 psi to his mind boggling 9.64 @ 134 :madfawk: Can you say Juice!!!
Now if I can get some more seat time, Ill be closing in on the 9.99 index with iron heads.
