Im getting down to the last of it for my 86 project and now i need some boost control. Im thinking about a Inovative BC but dont know much about it. Is there a web page describeing it ?? Is there a better way to skin this cat ?? Im open for sugestions.
I'm running stock headers feeding a gtq-70 ported shroud turbo exhausting into a 3" THDP set up for ATR headers. I hate buying things twice, but i think an external gate is the way i gotta go.
Thanks,
Craig Shellman

I've always had a internal wastegate and I've had problems with overboosting even with the Heavy duty Accuator. So I'm going with a Innovative Progate with Innovative Boost Controller. I had the Boost controller once but I'd to sell it to pay for bills. The controller is sweet and u can preset ranges of boost for when your shifting or u can switch to race mode or street mode its a real nice unit for are cars. Its just alittle pricey

I run the Innovative Pro Gate and Multi Stage Boost Controller and love it.It was a bit pricey and many will argue it isnt really needed but makes things like setting boost(and knowing what boost you'll have)a piece of cake. Also nice that you can set it up to change boost setting by gearchanges or you can set it up so you can manually toggle to different boost setting when tuning or if something were to go wrong(like you start to see detonation so you click the boost down a pound or two).
My favorite part of it is the launch stage where lets say I'm running 25psi and want to launch at 15psi I'll set the launch for 15psi and when I hit the t-brake button it puts the controller in launch stage. Then I can sit with the throttle to the floor knowing the boost wont go over 15psi.When I release the brake the controller goes to the first stage setting(25 psi in this case)and my boost goes up to 25psi.

I run the Inovative Boost Controller and the Turbo smart progate. Works like a charm. You can actually see it doing its job in the FAST logs. I only have one issue. That is the difference in boost numbers between the Boost controller,FAST and mechanical boost gauge.Seems like the controller is off the most. Now thats in my car but ive heard others. this is really a non issue cause once you figure out the difference, mine reads low, you just adjust for the difference and works as designed.I wanted mine mostly to regulate launch boost which helps keep it off the bumper.
Im going to redo all boost sensing lines and feed them off one point. That should reduce some of the discrepancies between gauges.

All assume you mean how the unit works and not how to operate the unit. It's a closed loop system that comes with a map sensor, 2 boost control soloniods, the controller, and harness. One of the soloniods is a decrease and the other is an increase. The system also self checks the map sensor and soloniods every time it powers up and will read an error code if it senses a problem.
If your intested in the istalation instructions on how the lines get hooked up and options on how to install the system let me know and I can email you a copy.

I also run one on my car, BIG + is launch boost control, Mine is also tied in the the t-brake button,ANd it also does not match my fast datalogger, off by a pound or 2, but i go by the fast system anyway, Or atleast i did when i ran less than 30#s, The map sensor that comes with the fast system stops reading a 30#s.

wait until you get the external gate. I had one and tried to use it on two cars that had the stock style set up and could not get it to work right with either. I've talked to a few other that could not get it to work with the stock setup.
works great with an external gate though.
