How about having an closed thread area, with some articles that go over the basics, with ALL the data (or close to it), so that folks aren't always just repeating themselves. I like contributing but at times it's just repeating the same odd thing, forever. There are certain things that in the last few years have changed, and it might be nice to have an area reflecting the new standards. ie in particular the idea of running injectors static, and why is pretty much a given now, and that there are better ideas out there, so why not have a thread explaining why 72's aren't the evil bad juju they were in the past.

I really like this idea. Perhaps call it The Library?
Even simple little tips (like keeping a spare cruise control clip for the wastegate) would help.
I agree also. Relatively new poeple like me like to read about anything they can find, but sometimes the old timers take the simple things for granted and leave a few gaps when explaining stuff. I assure you I'd read every thread!

Only if the information looks something like this........
http://www.turbobuicks.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17681
or
http://www.efi-tuning.org/forum/index.php?s=&act=SF&f=2
Otherwise people will just post OPINIONS not facts.........

Would you like to be the moderator of said section?

Moderating a Locked Board doesn't sound like too much work <g>....
Or maybe a read only tech section?.
And I'll take material from various threads and then post it in the tech area.
Or post my findings, and then have folks email me with their findings to come to a meeting of the minds over things?.
Lemme know what your thoughts are on how to impliment it, and I'll probably go for the moderator position.
Humbly, submitted for your consideration, #12.......

The idea of a Read Only Tech article section is a great idea, that would give guy's like me who don't like to ask a ton of tech questions another resource,I usually like to track down the info for myself, then if I don't understand what I'm reading,I'll ask.
Thanks Bill Chapman :anbet: :top:
It actually wont be locked or read only, however you will be able to lock the threads as you go that way no one can come in behind you an add stuff. Keeping it all unlocked allows other people to post as well and you can lock their posts, clean them up, etc. That way people other than you can contribute.
I actually had planned to have this section all along but for reasons Im not ready to reveal, I hadn't set it up.
