Never done it, but you should be able to remove shifter arm from original trans and bolt it to new trans. You will need to find or build a different bracket to bolt to pan to hold cable. Your shift indicator will be off.

Where would I look for one of these brackets? From another th350? Thanks for the reply also :applaus:

Parts that are different.
Shifter lever detent, this is the curved bracket with the slots cut into it on the shifter.
Shifter cable.
Equalizer shaft, the cross shaft between the frame and trans.
Cable bracket that bolts to trans pan.
Throttle valve cable.
Dipstick tube.
Crossmember. The mount is the same.
TC flywheel cover.
And of course the shifter indicator lense.

I have everything covered but the shifting part. So I owuld be better off to go with an aftermarket shifter, cable and throttle valve cable? Or can this be done with parts from a g body with a th-350?

Is it a race car you're doing this to or a daily driver?

The shifter parts would be 3-speed auto in Buick Regal and Olds Cutlass only. Any 1978 to 1987 should work.

Good luck.
Yep I won't have to spend $1800 to $2000 for a 200r4 when my th350 breaks. I can get it done here locally for $300 and thats with all the good parts. Guy here locally has owned several TR's and told me last time I visited him he would never build another 200r4 when they break he would just yank it and have a th350 built!

So, you're gonna run only a 3spd for it in a daily driver? That things gonna be screaming at 75mph...I certainly wouldnt' do it. With the 3.42s it's gonna be hurtin' A correctly built 200 can be done for under 800 bux with good components and will live in an 11 sec car with no problems, I guess I just don't see the benefits of the tradeoff...seems like a lot to give up and that 300 sounds awefully low plus you'll need a tc as well?

Nope it will not be an everyday driver , maybe once a week....once I get it running. Yes... I know of the bads and goods of running the 350. My friend..the one I mentioned earlier has an el-camino with an LC2 in it with a TH350 and he said at 75 his rpm's were around 3000. I had a 91 doge colt one time that would do that at 70 and that was in 5th gear...this is just a toy for me not really a show car or drag racer just stop light to stop light. :deal: Well my freind just got one built for $250 actually. And $800 yep but you are taking a chance as I asked my friend. He had one built for $800..lasted him all of 4 weeks. Had it built again for $1100...lasted 6 weeks this time. Had it built a 3rd time for $1800 with a known TR tranny guru and I will not mention the name(I am not here to bash)...he said it lasted for 6 months....so that's why he said never again. So for $3700 he still ended up going to a 350. I already have a convertor so no worries there. I do appreciate the concerns...but beleive me I have weighed the pros and cons.

I put a Turbo 350 in my car. It wasn't that hard. I need to get a manual valve body though.
