I've been running a 200-4r StreetFighter trans since 98'.... Still shifting firm in all gears ...many drag races with it ... Got it from JEGS. :arco:

Jegs sells them for around $1,200.00 . No core charge ,you keep your trans .
TCI gives it a 3 month warranty and will rebuild it for only $250.00 after it wears out years down the road..... Here's their site:

Fellow list member Gred Friend works for TCI or did last time I checked. You may want to email him direct, he has lots of info on this and helped to design it too. I have no experience with it tho

I had one too. They do rebuild it for $250. I had mine done twice. Really is a good deal!

How durable is the TCI tranny? Would it hold up for long in an 11 sec. GN? I'm looking at a rebuild and weighing all my options.

I just installed a Streetfighter trans in my WE-4. It shifts great. Very firm but not harsh, it barks the tires on the 1-2 shift at wot. It has only been in there for 500 or so miles, so I don't know about the reliability, but it is very consistant.(set your watch by the shifts)

I'm curious about this too. I'll need a tranny this summer or fall and I've been looking at the TCI. right now I'm running mid-high 11's and wondered how it would hold up at that HP level. I do more street driving than racing but would like that warm fuzzy feeling to know it would live through a few 1320's. Anyone?

Although this car has not yet been to the track, I beat the hell out of it on a regular basis. The tranny has about 800 miles on it now and really does good. Shifts are very positive, but not harsh. The best part is that I no longer have to worry about my transmission shifting at the right time anymore. Plus when it wears out, TCI will rebuild it for $250! You can't go wrong for the price.

I've heard good and bad about their trannys, but I would be worried about whether they had the BRF valve body and the GN servo. On top of that, they don't seem last very long with excessive amounts of power. And that's not just a 200 4R. I've seen their TH350's and 700 R-4's come back on trailers. But in all fairness, these were nitrous cars.

I bought a 700R4 thru a local shop many years ago. UPS decided to make it lighter by busting part of the bell housing off. The second one failed at day 26 of the 30 day warranty, the third one failed at day 32. Like I said it was years ago, but, since then, I only deal with people that I can go knock on their door if I have a problem.

Be absolutely sure to clean out the tranny lines. Take a piece of 1/4 steel garage door cable, and run it thur both tranny cooler lines. Also use the tranny cooler in a can to make sure the tranny cooler is clean as possible.

I bought a tci th350 from summit about 7 years ago..when i got the trans it had dirt on the case with paint covering it...i was not very pleased...i don't like the way it shifts but it has stood up to quite a few low 12 passes in a heavy camaro...i would never buy another tci trans and would not put one in my gn...............................................B ob :add_schac

I bought an TCI 200 4r about 9 years ago from Jeg's the shifts were firm
but not harsh and it lasted almost 1 year with just bolt-ons on a stock
86 T-Type. I have one of their 400 transmissions now with the same
engine but built up a little more and it's working great so far, this month
will be 1 year for this transmission.

So far my car has about 6000 miles on the TCI. I've changed the fluid at 500 miles and again at 3000 miles. This thing is not going to last much longer. It has developed a lazy 2-3 shift and unreliable downshifts. I think it would have been fine in a car with less power. So far my car has run 12.2@ 112 with a 2.3 60ft on street tires, and that was at 20 psi. I now am able to run 25 psi with no knock, I am imagining high 11s and 115mph, with traction. I don't think I'm even going to bother with rebuilding it for this car, maybe just rebuild it for a spare.
