Saw this in a Q & A section of Car Craft a few months back and tried it with the recent brake job and it did speed it up a bit......

Do a series of stops from 30 MPH to a stop 30 times with 30 seconds in between stops to speed the bedding process.
The stops should be gradual not formula 1
He states that process helps fill the pores in the metal with the new friction material.
It did not seat them completely but did help get there and can be done in under an our. I just used a old country back road & I noticed a difference.

At the Dealer we normally take the car out and ride the brake pedal until hard once or twice. This burns the pads in, this helps as new pads if not burned in do not stop very well until they have been heated a few times.
