LS1 TRANS AM SEAT INSTALL WITH POWER DRIVER SEAT
· REMOVE 4 NUTS SECURING GN DRIVER SEAT TO FLOORPAN
· UNHOOK POWER AND GROUND WIRES FROM GN WIRING HARNESS
· REMOVE SEAT FROM CAR
· SET GN SEAT NEXT TO TA SEAT
· REMOVE SEAT TRACKS FROM BOTH SEATS (4 BOLTS IN EACH OF THE 4 CORNERS OF THE SEATS)
· WHILE YOU HAVE THE SEAT TRACKS IN FRONT OF YOU, TAKE NOTE OF THE SEAT MOTORS, THEIR MOUNTING PLATES, AND THE “WIRES” THAT CONNECT THE SEAT MOTORS TO THE TRACKS AND MOVE THE ACTUAL SEAT UP AND DOWN
· NOW UNHOOK THE 3 “WIRES” THAT COME FROM EACH OF THE 3 MOTORS USED TO MOVE THE ACTUAL SEAT, BUT ONLY UNHOOK THEM FROM THE MOTORS, NOT THE PLACES THEY HOOK INTO THE SEAT TRACKS
· NOW UNBOLT THE MOTOR MOUNTING PLATE AND REMOVE THE 3 OLD GN MOTORS/PLATE FROM THE GN TRACK
· DO THE SAME PROCEDURES TO THE TA MOTORS/PLATE
· NOW BOLT THE NEW TA MOTORS/PLATE WHERE THE OLD GN MOTORS/PLATE WAS AND RECONNECT THE “WIRES” TO THE NEW TA MOTORS
· ATTACH NEW TA WIRING HARNESS TO NEW TA MOTORS (SHOULD BE COLOR CODED OR SOMETHING, YOU WILL SEE WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT)
· NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE A GN TRACK WITH NEW TA MOTORS AND TA WIRING HARNESS READY TO BOLT UP TO THE NEW TA SEAT
· BOLT THE NEW “HYBRID” GN TRACK TO THE TA SEAT USING THE TA BOLTS THAT CAME WITH THE TA SEAT
· NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE A TA SEAT WITH A GN TRACK WITH TA MOTORS AND TA WIRING HARNESS
· NOW ONTO THE PASSENGER SEAT (THIS ONE’S A BREEZE)
· REMOVE PASSENGER SEAT THE SAME WAY AS THE DRIVER SEAT (4 NUTS)
· PLACE SEAT NEXT TO TA SEAT AND REMOVE THE TRACKS FROM BOTH SEATS
· SWAP TRACKS
· NOW YOU HAVE A PASSENGER TA SEAT WITH A GN MANUAL SEAT TRACK
· NOW HOOK UP THE AIR HOSE HARNESS TO THE PASSENGER TA SEAT (IT CLIPS RIGHT IN)
· NOW FOR THE INSTALL
· SPLICE TA SEAT WIRING HARNESS POWER AND GROUND INTO THE STOCK POWER AND GROUND WIRES COMING FROM THE FLOOR PAN OF THE GN UP THRU THE CARPET UNDER THE SEAT (HARDEST PART OF WHOLE ORDEAL)
· TEST SEATS FOR CORRECT FUNCTION
· ONCE CORRECT POWER FUNCTION IS ESTABLISHED, BOLT SEATS BACK INTO CAR
· BRIDGE SEAT WIRING HARNESSES ACROSS THE DRIVE SHAFT HUMP (THIS IS HOW I DID MINE, IT SHOWS, I DON’T MIND BUT IF YOU WANT, IM SURE YOU CAN EASILY HIDE IT SOMEHOW BUT ROUTING IT UNDER THE SEATS/CONSOLE)
· MAKE SURE ALL WIRING AND AIR HOSES ARE PROPERLY HOOKED UP AND SECURED
· IF EVERYTHING WENT AS PLANNED YOU SHOULD HAVE NICE NEW TA SEATS WITH POWER DRIVER AND LUMBAR/SIDE BOLSTERS ON BOTH

· IF YOU PLAN ON DOING A POWER DRIVER SEAT, BE SURE TO GET THE TA SEAT WIRING HARNESS UNLESS YOU ENJOY SPLICING WIRES;)
· PUTTING POWER SEATS TO FULL VERTICAL POSITION PRIOR TO ANY WORK MAKES BETTING TO MANY OF THE BOLTS A LOT EASIER B/C IT ALLOWS YOU TO USE A SOCKET VS A WRENCH YOU CAN ONLY TURN 1/32” AT A TIME
· THE “WIRES” I REFER TO THAT ARE UNDER THE SEAT AND MOVE IT ARE ACTUALLY LIKE A CABLE IN A RUBBER SHEATH WITH SOME WEIRD TYPE SQUEEZE CONNECTORS. I BELIEVE YOU CAN ALSO SWAP THESE FROM THE TA SEATS AS THEY ARE THE SAME LENGTH BUT THEY WIND THRU THE SEAT KINDA WEIRD MAKING IT TRICKY TO GET THEM BACK THRU UNLESS YOU PUT THE SEAT TO A FULL VERTICAL POSITION PRIOR TO ANY WORK (IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY I THINK I DID USE THE NEW TA “WIRES” ON MY SEATS, I JUST HAD TO PLAY WITH TTHEM TO GET THEM IN B/C I DIDN’T PUT THE SEAT TO A FULL VERTICAL POSITION PRIOR TO WORKING ON THEM)
· THE STOCK GN SEATS HAVE SOME PLASTIC SIDE SKIRTS ON THEM. USE THEM IF YOU WANT/CAN, I DIDN’T B/C I EITHER DIDN’T LIKE THEM OR THEY WONT FIT THE TA SEATS. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT, THE ONLY ONE YOU CAN USE IS ON THE INSIDE PASSENGER TRACK SO IT REALLY DOESN’T MATTER
· IF THE TA SEAT ARRIVES WITH THE TRACK NOT IN THE FULL VERICAL POSITION YOU CAN PUT IT TO THE FULL VERTICAL POSITION BY TAKING THE “WIRE” OUT OF THE MOTOR AND USING PLIERS TO TURN IT BY HAND (ITS SQUARE CABLE AND EASY TO GRIP). THIS CAN BE DONE WITH THE TRACK CONNECTED OR DISCONNECTED FROM THE SEAT
· ON MY CAR THE STOCK POWER AND GROUND WIRES COMING FROM THE FLOOR PAN UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT WERE DEAD SO I RAN NEW ONES UNDER THE CARPET ALONG WERE THE OLD ONES RAN UP BY THE FUSEBOX. I THINK MY CAR WAS JUST A FLUKE THO B/C MY SEATS WORKED BEFORE I REMOVED THEM FROM THE CAR BUT ITS STILL A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK THE WIRES FOR POWER PRIOR TO GOING THRU THE HASSLE OF INSTALLING THE SEATS
