Brakes on GN are hard as hell. Hardly any stopping power, and brake light on>
Does this generally mean powermaster is bad???

Unfortunately, that's probably a bad PM, *BUT* check your fuses- that happened to me once and I thought the PM was dead......turned out to be a lousy 20 amp fuse!

I forgot about the fuse. Will check!
I know this has been debated for ever and asked a million times but WTF
Is there any vehicle other than the GN that you can get a PM off of???

Seriously:I dunno about that. Vacuum brakes aren't stock and they don't hold a lot of boost....but they don't go out unexpectedly all the time like PMs do.
(Just my experience)

I mean other than a TURBO BUICK :add_wegbr did any other vehicles have a powermaster??

I have done the Vac switch on my street car, and my project car came with them and so no problems at all.

I gotta 2 ohters around here somewhere I wonder if I can take three and make 1 good one??

I gotta 2 ohters around here somewhere I wonder if I can take three and make 1 good one??Probably.....as long as one of them has a good accumulator......which is doubtful, 'cause that's usually what goes out.

I agree, that is what I have done on my other cars. But I want this one original so going to have to fix one out of 3 or buy one :asskickin

Best money I've spent on my GN! for peace of mind it simply makes me feel better knowing i dont have to worry about the PM going out on me. the only thing you will need is a vaccum brake pedel from a JY, then get the vac. set up from your local parts store and in 30min. you're done and never have to worry about stopping agian!

I ordered one set from red regal T and my other T came with Vacs. So I agree on them for normal use!

Switch it to vacuum and be done with it. $125.00Yep, that's what I did.....but again, you wont hold as much boost on the line.....but does that matter when it comes to having safer brakes?

I did the S-10 cylinders and Soft Brake Shoes and it was not bad. Hell the last GN I launched off the e-brake anyway and it was good

The stage car you cannot leave off the e-brake to hard, you will be in the trees :dong: :dong:

On the S-10 switch what all do you change exactly. I have read two differnt things. So now I just reask here :arco:

There is a write up on it at gnttype.org that I followed when I did it. You're just changing the whole brake assembly (PM vs. Vacuum) and the pedal.......just don't forget that you will need a new vacuum block. I ordered the machined one from Poston and it looks beautiful sitting atop my throttle body! :arco:

Edit: Sorry, I read that wrong. I'm an idiot.

They have the write up on the S-10 swap? We did the vac switch on my street car and so far so good. I love that site it is a little hard to find everything though!!
