What do you use? How's the quality and speed for ripping audio files? :rock_dj:

I've also used AudioCatalyst in the past. I just started using a freebie I found online, called CDCopy, that is a bit simpler, and seems much faster.
I too, only encode at 128. I haven't really found the need to go higher, I can't notice any difference in sound quality.
CDex or Exact Audio Copy with the Lame Encoder. There is also an Ogg plugin for both. Keep in mind that if you are going to use them on a portable, Ogg eats battery life.

I used CD-DA X-Tractor. Its cheap but did the job pretty well for me, and I have not noticed a problem with any of the songs I ripped

Yea 128 for a set of headphones on an mp3 player is fine...no need to be any higher. If you're talking about playing it at a party at super loud volumes, that's a dif story.
