Just got back from a Vacation and installed a new Racetronix Turbo Buick High Performance Plug n' Play Fuel Pump Harness. I had a Reds hotwire kit on it, and removed the wire back to the pump, the sensor and the connection to the hot lead on the Alt. Since I did not install the Reds kit, I am not sure what to do with the connector to the Alt. and the Vacuum thing. The car started for about 45 seconds and blew alot of gray smoke out the tail pipes. Now it won't start at all. There is 45 Lbs. fuel pressure. Now what do I check? Could I have switched the two small fuel lines to the pump, would that cause this?

The vacuum thing you describe sounds like a volt booster and should not affect the turn on of the pump. When you turn the key forward without starting the car can you hear the fuel pump run? Are you getting switched power to the fuel pump harness connector behind the rear bumper?

It is a volt booster. I do get pressure, but I can not hear it run. There is an extra wire from where I removed the sensor, I am not sure where to hook it to. If I jump the loose wire to the hot lead of the Alt. I can hear the fuel pump, but it jumps to about 60 psi. Should I reconnect the sensor?

Post this in General Tech also..I am not familiar with the Racetronix setup. If you are getting pressure then the pump sounds to be working properly. YOu may have other issues.

Heard that racetronics harness is pinned wrong at rear connection. Meaning the wrong colored wire is in wrong slot. Heard of at least one this way so far.
