I was wondering about what drive shaft to get for a street car that makes over 500rwhp and has a trans brake. It has a turbo 400 and a GN diff still. And which material and venders to persue for pricing. I would like to use the trans brake to take a bite out of those 60's. And to keep from pushing thru the lights.

use your stock driveshaft and change the u joints. Spend the extra change elsewhere. From what i have heard, aftermarket driveshafts are needed at the 800+whp area.

I got the one for my Metro from Denny's Driveshaft. It's a 3.5" aluminum one that has 1310 joints on it. My 9" pinion was for that and I didn't think I'd need a 1350 and the added cost of adding one. They assured me that I'd never break it with a brake. It's the same shaft as Pro Stock cars use he tells me. We'll see... It was ~$400 to my door and took about a week to get. It's very high quality and they promised me it is better balanced than any factory shaft could be. :marchmell
