Well I finally got sick of the exhaust leak I bought a new set of the Poston headers at income tax time and finally got around to getting them on the car. The primary pipes are larger than the stock but they fit nicely and are ceramic coated. However I did run into a problem. The up pipe was kinda formed on the flange to the old headers. With the new ones it doesn't seal there so I have a new leak to kill now. :add_shit: So........next step. I took the car by several exhaust shops to see about building a new up pipe. Almost every single one of them said no....due to the mandrel bends. I found one that said they would do it...............for $175. Being the cheap bastard I am, I told them to get stuffed and :racer: on down the road. Not being able to find anyone resonable on this I started looking at what it is. It is just 2) 90 degree bends with a ball flange on 1 end and the three hole flange on the other. I jumped onto Summits website and found steel 2" mandrel bend 90 degree pipes for $17.99 each. I am going to make a new 3 hole flange, and one of the exhaust shops can flare the ball flange for me.
I really hope this fixes the problem. I should be into it for maybe $50 when it is done, then I will send it out and have it ceramic coated as well. I should still be in under $100.
