my dad has a .060 over 350 buick that needs AT LEAST a hone run through it. If it needed to be cut would it be too thin??

Anything over .060 would require a custom piston that would cost way to much for what you are probably looking for. With the 350, .040 is a safe over-bore, .060 they recommend a sonic check since there a good few that have done this and ran into overheating and supposely bad distortion issues. A 350 Buick is a prettty commom Buick block and was made until 81 so it should be better to get another block. If your .060 over was not overheating and you are on a mega tight budget, you can look into honing the bore and knurling the piston skirts if they are a bit sloppy. Back in my early years I did this to my 350 which put it thru 3 more years of good use and beating until I found a short concrete pipe is a old parking lot that trashed the motor and the car. I should be beatin' :twak: for even mentioning knurling the pistons but I got away with it and it is an option, just not one that should be at the top of the list.
