We're trying to get a GN/SyTy/Turbo GP meet together on August 6 + 7.
Place: Interstate Dragways, Sabin, MN. (Greater Fargo/Moorhead area)
Distances:
Bismarck ND - 203 Miles
North Twin cities - 215
Souix Falls, SD - 252
Winnipeg, MB, Ca - 232
Track web site:
http://www.interstatedragways.com/
Event info:
http://www.interstatedragways.com/2005TintmastersStreetLegalThunderInfo.html
It runs from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, according to the website. Watch the site
for changes/updates, as these things have been known to change in the
past. Local zipcode is 56580 if you want to check weather before you leave.
August up here is typically dry, but expect temps in the 80s+.
There are a number of hotels in the nearby vicinity (within 3-4 miles). I'd
recommend the Courtyard(Marriott) Inn + Suites in Moorhead. There are
also a few "budget" motels in Moorhead as well, if that's more your style.
Camping at the track is free, too, if you wanna pitch a tent.
The street legal events are essentially all-day Test-N-Tune. There will be a
fair amount of import stuff there, but they're fun to pummel.
The track surface is about 2 years old, and is very sticky. A local GN owner
cut some 1.6x 60s on drag radials recently.
I'm planning on bringing a grill, so if you wanna bring grill food, I'll be happy
to burn it.
I don't get over to this board much, so if you need any more info, try PM'ing
me. (It should notify via e-mail) Feel free to pass the word around to other
GM-turbo folks you might know.
Unless they're jerks. Then tell 'em it's in Brainerd. :)
Later,
Dig
