I haven't used the Spark Only version, but the Translator plus was nice for being able to taylor the spark to what I wanted. Looks like it would round out what you have going in your sig..

The Spark translator is similar to the Trans+ except that it works with any chip, not just the Extender chip.

Can someone explain the Extender? I registered to win one and I don't even know wtf it is :elefant:

Its a chip Bob Bailey designed to go with his Translator and Translator plus. When used with the Translator and an LT1 or LS1 MAF it allows changes to the idle, cruise, spoolup and WOT fuel curves. When used with the Trans + it allows fuel and spark changes, allowing for less timing for fast spoolup and more timing for low gears and WOT. Works great with alky or propane also.

Basically its the last chip a street car would ever need. I am sure it does more but I dont have one yet. The MaxEffort does a lot of the same things, but uses a thumbwheel and stock MAF. They do similar things with different approaches to get it done. Both are fine products

Will, talk donald, he has one and if you can understand him he will tell you what it can and will do for you. man that guy is FAR to technical sometimes. he is far to smart!

joe: the extender is a chip setup to double the maf range so that you can more accurately read above 255, and not worry about pegging mafs or maf lock. it's tailored to work w/ the maf translators.

I'm using the Translator & the Spark Translator.

I traded the Translator+ for the Translator after I got the Spark Translator.

My reason for using the Spark Translator, is the voltage trigger input which allows 2 different spark advance settings.

I,m skittish about running out of alcohol. I have several sensors any 1 can retard the timing & at the same time shut down the Boost Controller. I use akly low in the tank, 2 hobbs switches on the alky nozzle line - 1 is minumin pressure (is the pump running) & 1 is maximim pressure (is the nozzle clogged), & an out put from my Knock Gauge (first yellow light).

Yes I did get a spare ECM in the trade so I can have it modified for low impedance injectors.
