Larry does have his motor running.
He had some bugs he is working out, they are psted on the other board in stage II area.
He was at the track with his car at our club outing on Sunday.
Looked pretty good from the observer standpoint.
I will let him know you guys are asking and maybe he will fill you in here.

I could not have been happier. The night before out club rental, I put the car in the trailer and it smoked pretty bad :smokin: . As I wrote on the other board - I have had some issues - checked this checked that. I changed this and modified that. I took it to the track in hopes the smoke would clear up if I could get consistent load on it, because otherwise - everything else was looking and sounding good.
!st pass - I was nervous, no burnout, no boost - walked in down the track at alittle over 1/2 throttle- 115 mph - 12.01. On the return road I stopped and listened. All was good - I was relieved. I drove back to the pitts and club members said it smoked alittle at the start and then stopped.
2nd pass - no burn out, minor power brake - then got on it alittle - 11.8 at 121mph
3rd pass - burn out, power braked to 2-3#'s and had the boost controller at 14#'s - 10.89 at 121 mph
4th pass - moved boost controller up to 16#'s and power braked to 5 #'s - 10.7 at 124 mph.
The timing was set at 18 degrees at the uppper end on all 4 runs at 11.2 A/F. At no time after the 1st run did it smoke! :notworthy
THe motor ran cool despite the 90 degree day - stk radiator with Jack cottons front mount intercooler.
I was very happy with the day. The car has much more in it. I will change the oil this week - check that out and then I will be getting with Jack Cotton to move the program up. Next track day I will bring it up on the transbrake and see where it goes from there.

I believe it was a combination of things. When I reworked the lifters that definitely helped, changing from the shell Rotella T 15 50 (at breakin) to a straight 30 wt "may" have helped. I believe opening the drain back holes helped getting to oil away from the valve stems and then the seals and blocking the PVC helped reduce it. But after all that, it still smoked ( but not as bad )with 330 miles on it. I can only assume for some reason the rings were not seating and at the track they finally did? I believe what ever it was, has stopped. Larry

Great news and I am happy for you. Can you give us some details on how much work this TA block needs to be dropped in. Seems there are stories from, it is a royal PIA to much work etc to not bad.
Congrats Larry...Glad to see all your hard work and $$$ has paid off. I think there's a nine second slip headed your way.

Larry,
In the pics it appears the lifters are modified at the oil holes. Is this correct?

They came with .09 feed holes. I reduced them to .032. That helped stop the excessive oil that was trying to fill up the valve covers. I believe the oil build up there was getting sucked down the valve stems under vacuum. I then put valve seals on also. So far, so good. Larry
