Getting back into shape in starting to hit the Gym again. Went to GNC last night to pick up a protrein drink, (Myoplex) and some amino acids, and picked up a book on this fairly new suppliment..No2. Was reading it last night, pretty interesting product. Anyone taking it that can comment?

I don't use No2 but know people that have taken it. It seems to work good combined with other supplements for people that are not advanced in body building. For example, I have a friend that has been training for 13 years and is really big. It don't work for him, not enough quantity to make a difference. But works somewhat on smaller guys. I havn't heard much good about it, and I know a lot of body builders.

Myself, I may suggest.... I've been training 3-5 days a week since Feb '02. I use Cell Tech and Nitro Tech from MuscleTech Labs. Started using about two months ago. I noticed huge gains on just about everything I did. From bench press to running. My bench went from 6-8 reps of 155 to 10-12 reps, and max 1RM was 185 and now 225. In just 6 weeks. I feel a lot stronger since taking them together. Before I was taking the GNC Creatine monohydrate powder alone. I noticed gains on that but not as significant as cell/nitro tech.

Most important of all is a diet plan. Stay away from fats, tons of carbs and intake Hi protein, Hi water, with these supplements. First understand what the purpose is for the supplement and help it out as much as you can. Creatine increases protein synthesis on the muscle fibers. Basically adds water to muscle and makes room for more protein to settle down. Therefore, you get bigger, stronger and feel better. And you will gain weight with these supplements. Good source foods in my diet are, egg whites, fish, bulk almonds(no salt and other junk) chicken, tuna, fruits/veg, lots of water and small amounts of milk. Complex nutrition is what the body needs for growth.

Sorry so long, working out is my favorite thing right next to GNs. HTH, Jason

Thanks for the reply. The book I got was writtne by the guy who "created" the no2 stuff. It's a good read. Was only a buck, so what the hell. Pretty easy read too, some dry stuff if you wanna get really techy on it all if you're into competitions and stuff, but I just read the normal language stuff.
It's like Creatine in that it increases your muscle fiber, but creatine increase the water mass in the muscle where this doesn't. Taken with creatine and a good protein supp. is pretty much what the book suggests inaddition to normal vitimins and protein drink/whey type stuff.

What you described on the gains is pretty typical of the gains I have read on the n02..faster recoveries, increased endurance, more reps etc..

Shit ain't cheap. 80 bux for 180 pills. I'm 230lbs so that's 5 pills a day, 2x. So an 18 day supply . I got 20% off thru GNC. You used to be able to find it online discounted but MRI sold the rights to GNC, now that's the only place to get it. There are knockoffs out there but not as good I hear.

The website is http://www.getno2.com
Also got some Traqc creatine www.maxperformance.com
protein drink, http://www.eas.com/
and an amino acid pill also...

So, I start tonight, can't take the creatine for 10 days however once you start the n02.

I think alot of the new designer supplements are a waste of money. I did a few of them for a while and never really saw any benefit. I recommend just sticking to protein and creatine. What type of physiqe (sp) are you going for exactly? As far as me, I havnt takin' any suppletments in a couple years, but also stoped working out for almost a year up until about 9 months ago. I started at 145lbs and now up to 160 with just using protein for a couple months and the rest just from trying* to eat well. My gains in the last month have been really good because of a new workout I made up, I like to think it is pretty good, for atleast an amature :)

This is my current workout, which I do the whole body 2 times a week. Some of it has been revised since I last printed it out, so no critisizing :)

Day1 - BACK: DeadLift - Bent Over Barbell Rows - Weighted Pullups - 1 Arm Machine Rows + 6 Set Weak Point Train

Day1 - Tricep: Close Grip Barbell Press - Lying Tricep Extensions - Weighted Dips - + 6 Set Weak Point Train

FOREARM: Barbell Wrist Curls - Reverse Barbell Curls - Hammer Curls

Day5 - BACK: Close Grip Pullups - Cable Rows Close Grip - Machine Pullups - T Bar Rows + 6 Set Weak Point Train

Day5 - Tricep: Cable Pressdowns - Rope Superset - Tricep Kickbacks - Dumbbell Ext. - + 6 Set Weak Point Train

FOREARM: Barbell Wrist Curls - Reverse Barbell Curls - Hammer Curls

Day2 - Legs: Barbell Squat - Front Squat - Hamstring Extensions - Leg Extensions

Day2 - Shoulders: Dumbbell Press - Machine Press - Seated Lateral Raises - Lateral L's

CALVES: Seated Calf raises - Standing Calf Raises

Day6 - Legs: Barbell Squats - Hack Squats - Leg Extensions - Hamstring Extensions

Day6 - Shoulders: Dumbbell Press - Cable Laterals "Side Raise" - Front Dumbbell Raises - Reverse Flys

CALVES: Seated Calf raises - Standing Calf Raises

Day3 - Chest: Barbell Flat - Barbell Incline - Barbell Decline - Cable Presses - Dumbbell Flys

Day3 - Bicep: Standing Barbell Curl - Cheat Curl - Preacher Curl - Concentrated Curl 'Reverse Preacher'

TRAPS: Barbell Shrugs - Machine Shrugs

Day7 - Chest: Dumbbell Flat - Dumbbell Incline - Dumbbell Decline - Dumbbell Flys

Day7 - Bicep: Standing Barbell Curl - Incline Curl - Concentrated Curl "Reverse Preacher" - Cable Curl

TRAPS: Machine Shrugs - Dumbbell Shrugs

The order in which I do them is Day 1,2,3,5,6,7 and 4 being the day off. I put the same workouts together on the list just to compare easier. The best thing ive done is bought the Arnold encyclopedia of Modern Body Building. Every peice of info you could EVER need to know is in there, this book is MUCH better then the waste of money FLEX magizines, and hell the book doesnt have 25% of its pages in supplement ad's! Here is a couple pictures of me after about 7 1/2 months of work, starting at 145 lbs to 160 at the latest picture. You will have to excuse the crappy posing, I was trying to keep a strait face and not look like im grunting, which made the front double bicep shot a bitch for me to do, (never really flexed the lats or chest together) I did put about 2.5 inches on my arms in that time. My body is so lop-sided when it comes to power, i guess I am extremely right handed, which made me do a ton of weak point training, and still doing it. Here are the pictures..

Hey John, nice post, good info. Looks like it's working good for you. How old are you? I notice you're right in Wakefield. I am pretty sure I've seen you before, I've been in that area before and seen a TTA cruising around. I know it's not Brandon, you must know him..Pretty sure he's all but out of it at this point.

That's a pretty nice schedule you put together there, I don't know what half the shit is tho :dong: I'm meeting Tuesday w/the personal trainer at the gym, put together something like this to start off and see what's what.

As far as what I'm going for..I'm 6'4" 230. Wouldn't mind going up 15lbs or so. Overall muscle tone and mass. Not to the point I can't put my arms down by my side or nothing.

I'm up in Derry NH, not too far from you. Here's a pic of me enjoying an early morning brew at Bowling Green :)
