I have one on mine and think it's a good idea. I bought one from the old SX company years ago for the same reason you mentioned.

I'm not a engineer but safety is a concern, is it a good idea to maintain pressure on a fuel system that is not needed as when the engine isn't running?
When things are up and running with a fuel system, then turned off, is it in the best interest of the pump to have to start up with full head pressure to overcome? My thinking lends toward allowing the system to bleed pressure for less load on the pump (unless it's designed to start at hi press). Then maybe some sort of a soft start (design feature) is defeated, reducing the life expectancy of the pump.
