The power plate comes with it blocking the EGR function, should a mostly street car drill the plate to open it up or leave it in a blocked condition. If left blocked what the pros/cons when doing this?? Thanks!

It depends on the chip programming. If the chip was made to work with the EGR, then drill it. To answer your 2nd question: if you leave it blocked and use a chip that is programmed for EGR, you may run into some tip-in and moderate load spark knock issues due to the advanced timing.

What he said. Drill it unless your chip is programmed for no EGR. The EGR does not open at WOT, so it will not change loaded performance. I have been told that chips burned for no EGR will get slightly less mileage. IMO, street car, keep EGR.

Might scan down the home page and peek in at the library.

EGR doesn't hurt anything, and it's easy to troubleshoot if something does go wrong...Keep it, expecially if you have to get it emissions tested.

My recommendation would be to drill it. If you EVER contemplate running through a smog inspection, chances are it will be needed to get through that (depending on state/region).
Besides, it has absolutely no ill affect on performance, so it certainly doesn't hurt to have it functional, and if your chip doesn't use it, so what. If you ever need it, it'll be there.

Takes 5 minutes...drill it. If the EGR is disabled with a chip, it won't hurt anything.
