The BPS Manual recomends that you use a die grinder and a 600 grit drum sander. Before I saw the 600 grit part, I was using 120 to cut out the flashing on the rods. Have I weakened them or hurt anything? I stayed on the sides like discused and still can see some of the flashing. Can I just go back and slick up w/ a finer grit or should I start over with a fresh set rods? I really don't see how I would have cut any of the stress risers out w/ 600 because I've already spent several hrs with the 120.

If it really says 600, I'm guessing it was a typo. You'd be weeks at it with 600 grit. Take the major casting flash off with the 120, and don't worry about it too much. It's probably not going to hurt, but it isn't going to turn them into a set of Carrillos, either. :racer:
