Hi Everyone!,Just curious about the color inside my up-pipe and exhaust manifolds. When I took my stock up-pipe off this winter to upgrade to the Poston unit the inside of ALL my pipes were BRIGHT WHITE.Is this something to be concerned about? My first thoughts were running LEAN.Second guess was maybe all the 110 OCT. fuel I've been running did it.Am I on the verge of a MELTDOWN?What color is the normal color to expect to see inside your up-pipe?Thanks ALL!

I have no idea what could cause the white film/color. Maybe the 110 fuel you've been using is the clue. Is it powdery/chaulky? Can you scratch it off or is it hard and baked on? Since you're racing, I'm assuming that you've been monitoring A/F parameters and such. If it's been running lean, as you've suggested, wouldn't that manifest itself as a bunch of knock retard? Do you have an EGT? If the exhaust was hot enough to melt the pipes, they'd probably start glowing orange first.
The only other thing occurs to me is maybe a coolant leak. Head gaskets OK?
Maybe someone else with more experience will speak up. Good luck.
