The only bad thing I have heard about avgas is it has a ton of lead, much more than race gas. If you are running propane why do you need avgas anyways?

Its about the same price as super for starters. I was getting knock and AV gas was the closest thing available for me to eliminate the fuel. I dont run a cat and I am ready and willing to replace an O2 if needed so I thought AV gas to be the answer.

So have you set up your propane system yet? I would think that would be the answer, not avgas. You ultimately should be back on 93 octane

Yes the propane was set up while I was getting the knock. I didn’t have the green wire grounded as I should. I am hoping this was the problem. I haven’t had a chance to see because of a slipping trans.

I think that it is actually the ProPain that is killing 200-4R's, mine has been flairing on the 1-2 shift and now the TCC solenoid is sticking. Rather frustrating when you think about it.
As for the original post, I think it would only be a problem if you are somewhat rich. If you are running with a good tune and need the extra fuel then it wouldn't hurt anything but wouldn't help with the octane either.
P.S. Simply cutting the Green wire will suffice, grounding it is a slightley preffered option. And for anyone who doesn't know, on the older OGS ProPain kits, the Green wire from the solenoid to the plug was inadvertantly attached to the black wire which caused the solenoid to stay open 100% of hte time when the system was activated instead of the intended cycling controlled by the "Injection Control" knob when set below the max setting.

You sure you havent been huffing that propane a little? I think the main culprit in destroying 200 trannies is the drivers right foot :zahn:

LMAO, it actually is a logical assumption that adding either ProPain or Alky will kill your tranny, look at how many posts there are about installing it and then getting a new tranny :top:
BTW, I was wondering what that smell was :yessir:
