When I bought my 84 T-type,It had a Chevy 350 in it.I converted it back to stock using my parts car.The 350 had a coolant gauge already hooked up and functioning. When I pulled the 350 out I just rolled up the wire, shoved it back through the fire wall and it has been sitting coiled up in front of my shifter where you would put the console gauge pod.Now my question is,Where would there be a 3rd port to put this sensor into?I know there are 2 coolant sensors in the intake up front. Can I disconnect one of those without setting a SES code? Also,From what I can tell, the coolant probe going to the gauge looks to be too short to make it up to the front of the intake.Do I have to find a different probe wire that is longer or is there a plug in the back of the engine some where that is in the coolant jacket?ANY help that will help me "Git'er Done" will be greatly appreciated! :beerglass

Had the same problem on my car, had the 85 stock block on a stand beside the 86 long that I converted to hot air :zahn: the 86 has a drain plug on the driverside of the block the 85 doesn't.
What I did is use the lines going to the thottle body made a t that i could screw the sender into and soldered a plug on it for the ground.Used 2 short rubber hoses to connect loop. When finshed painted it black almost invisible.

I just interrupted my rubber hose at the firewall where the heater control valve is located, inserted a brass T I believe was 1/2" int he two and 1/4 for the temp sensor, or whatever the measurement was....shined up nice, cost me like, $2.00, and that was it....couple hose clamps, tucked it behind the turbo, never to be seen agian!!

Doesnt you car have the heat shield over the heater lines, I had a tough time just hooking up the heater lines without chewing up the back of my hands.

heat shield had two screws int he bottom, and I think one on top, maybe two...I had the shield off before I did all that. And I painted it too! lol
