grey or blue-ish grey smoke on startup is usually valve seals. if the valve seals are worn enough, oil will seep down into the combustion chambers after you shut the engine off. if the engine sits long enough (like overnight) you'll get enough oil in the combustion chambers to produce the smoke on startup. if this is the case, you probably won't notice the smoke during normal driving because it's such a small amount. it's only really noticeable after the engine sits a while and enough oil seeps past the seals to cause a noticeable amount of smoke.

If it is only on start up, not during driving, I would say valve guides also....If you have a little smoke when driving, like during shifts, you may be spitin a little oil through that turbo!!!! Many people go through this!!! lol...I am just totally getting rid of the stock turbo, and going BIG!!! But, if you are not smoking during the driving, maybe you need to port out those bad boys and get them bronze valve guides!!!
Good luck...sorry you got rained out at ATCO!!
