Alky Rundown?

:arco: Hey All!!! I have been talking soooo much about adding alky to the combo, and wanting to go fast with the ease and promise that alky provides!! What I want to know is what exactly is entailed when installing alky? What does it do? How do I install it in a hot air? what is the best system, multi-stage? Give me the rundown!!!!!

Install: (SMC kit)
1. install nozzle .(in a hot air car it goes in the turbo to intake adapter)
2. Replace coolant tank with new tank/pump unit. Connect spray line.
3. route harness cable into cockpit-connect to controller
4. connect power, ground and boost line
5. DONE.

BENEFITS:
Allows as much as 5-7 #s more boost and also extra timing to be run.

BEST SYSTEM-
Razor & SMC both make excellent units tailored to turbo Buicks. Try one of the progressive controllers (more boost = more spray) for best results. The progressive's are like having a many stage system w/o the complexity.

5 to 7 more pounds? I thought alky allowed you to go alot higher than that. I bought an SMC kit, but it has no instructions..anyway, I can only run 12psi on this 91 octane crap. Ive seen alot of people pushing 22-23psi on 91 by just adding an alky kit. What am I missing here?

The amount of extra boost depends upon alot of factors....
1: Boost capability before alky
2: Timing
3: Octane of gas

Most Tr's on 93 octane can run 14-16 psi. With alky 20-22, sometimes more, but I tend to be conservative.
