Set of Stage 2 heads with "HOWE"on them and some other numbers on them.
Curious thats all!
Did ALOT of stage 2 Busch heads, used to work for Holmes and Eames, probably the best as far as flow numbers are concerned, Howes will outflow a set of Chapman CNC heads...

Allright thanks for the info............thats good to know!
This is my first shot at stage 2 heads and i am curious to know what the recommended installed height should be/type of springs/and how about the titanium exhaust valves, is it proven that they will not survive in a turbocharged application?
And if they are not recommended then which valves should i replace them with?
I assume the seats should be ok.
Send me to school.....LOL
Thanks!
Email me if needed.
Installed height will depend on the valve length. I use K Motion with Titanium retainers , 10 deg. locks.Titanium valves will work well on a drag racing engine and a street engine driven VERY moderately, same thing on your current seats regardless of the material.

<snip> Titanium valves will work well on a drag racing engine and a street engine driven VERY moderately, <snip> .Can you elaborate?? A friend of mine wishes to sell me a set of S2 heads that are equipped with Titanium valves. This engine would be going into my 86. You can see the block over there to the left under my handle. It would see daily driver chores. Probably no more than a few thousand miles a year, but could be more. Not a dedicated race car.

I would think a few thousand miles would be about the limit before pulling them down for inspection, probably pull the engine and go through the entire thing anually anyway....

In your opinion would you suggest an inconel or stainless exhaust valve? :fragez:
Inconnel but it will be$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Pulling the engine apart annually is not something I'd be looking forward to. Might have to though.
What is it about the titanium valves (in the exhaust hole) that would make them unsuitable for daily driving? Or even some racing?
