Instant email notification?

Is there a way to receive forum posts as instant email? I'd like to receive immediate emails of posts to the forums I am subscribed to, not the "links" I receive now once per day. If this is possible, I haven't been able to find the feature.... if it isn't then make this post a suggestion for such a feature.

Go to your User CP and click on the Edit Options link in the left hand navbar.

Then, find the area labeled:

Default Thread Subscription Mode When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads (http://www.t6p.com/subscription.php?), with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread. Do not subscribeNo email notificationInstant email notificationDaily email notificationWeekly email notification Default Thread Subscription Mode:

Change it to say Instant instead of Daily, etc.

Thanks for the tip. However, the feature you describe seems to only apply to "subscribed threads". I guess what I am looking for is a way to automatically subscribe to every thread in every forum I am subscribed to. That way I think this feature will do what I was originally asking about.

Why? I want to be able to look at an email's subject line and decide right there and then if I want to read any further. The way it is now, I have to open the emails to see the subject lines, and then click again to read the actual posting. Call me lazy, but I find these extra steps inconvenient. If I can get instant emails for all the posts for the forums I've subscribed to, this list will look and behave the same as all the other lists I am subscribed to. I am also hoping this will allow me to use my own email client to reply.

I understand why this list is setup the way it is, as it is probably already the way most people like it. However, I know that I will be more inclined to interact with the list if it works the way my other lists work, and I'll bet there might be a few other folks out there that feel that way too. If this isn't possible then let this serve as a feature suggestion for the future.
