Well after about 6months I'm finally ready to buy a big turbo. I've finished everything else I needed to do and its time. I'm on a T63E right now with a billet 9x11 3400 l/u. I was set on going with a Q trim 67 or 70 but now I'm thinking about innovative or a turbonetics dual ball bearing turbo. I'd like to keep the 3400 stall and I know the ball bearing will spool much quicker on the street than the regular journal bearing set up. So does anyone have any experience with a bb 70 from either of these companies? I never hear much about them good or bad. Just wondering what everyone knows about them. This will be a street driven car with a occasional trip to the track. Also if theres something better out from one of these companies let me know or if my best bet is a PTE 67 or 70. Its a big choice and I want to do as much research as I can. I plan on this being the last turbo I buy for this car. TIA

The 70 might be a little soggy unless you have a trans brake for launches with the 3400 stall.

The 67 is not an upgrade from your 45a.

If you still have the 45a, we can turn it into a 70 for you. It will be a cheaper than getting a new turbo outright.

Let me know if you want to get upgraded.

This car used to have a BB70, I think it was from Precision not sure though. They switched to a LT-70GTQ. John Craig is a good man I would go through him for your turbo.

I sold the 45a thinking I was going to sell the car too but I ended up keeping the car. I do however have a TE-60 sitting around. Is there anything you can do with that?

I'd recommend a Turbonetics turbo. They give you a 1 year unconditional warrenty and they will honor it, unlike PTE. I'm very happy with my ball bearing T66.

I'm anther fan of the Turbonetics single BB big turbos. Can't kill em and tons of power. :add_schac

I would recommend an Innovative dual ball bearing.

I have used both a Turbonetics 80 single ball bearing and an Innovative 74 dual ball bearing. The Innovative wins hands down.

For what you are doing I would go with a dual bb 66 from Innovative. I think the stall speed on the converter you have now will work very well with that turbo and it will be a mean mother on the street or strip.

I have a friend that is using that turbo with a 3800 stall and he is very happy with it. The only reason he went with the 3800 was because he already had the converter.

The GTQ wheels are a whole other breed of wheels. They flow more at a lower rpm ( compressor rpms ) and they make more power. I have not tried one of those yet.

I can say there is no such thing as lag with a bb unit. Whatever the stall speed is on the converter is where the turbo will spool. Your choice.

We can make your TE60 into a TE67P. Let me know if you are interested.

With the heads and the stall that you have, the TE67P will be a nice little combo.

Taffy, its a hard choice I have to make here but I'll let you know.

Thanks for info everyone, I'm torn between the innovative BB and the GTQ series. Has anyone gone from a GTQ turbo to a innovative BB or something similar?
