i know we have several guys in the 10s but the vast majority of 9 second rides we did are running an aod or a th400.i guess the only ones in the 9s consistently are the ones owning the trans shops.seems there is a lot of stories floating around but they must be just that as no one is responding.if you want to go in the 9s without the headaches and with overdrive the aod is the only wise choice.the 2004r will be good in the 10 second zone however.

Dan we'll see when I get the car back together.. It held up for three years of punishment before while running in the tens. I think it all depends on the weight of the car.

Dan, you need a 9 second motor before you start worrying about a 9 second tranny. Now stop causing trouble on the boards, and get that f'in car finished wouldya!! :maeaeh:

Yes and no billet parts. Hardened Art Carr pieces and uses a Stage-Right brake.

These guys have 9 sec 2004Rs. Not sure of the street miles per year all but 2 are transbrake cars all are 3500 lb plus. There are a couple more guys that would not want thier names posted because they are street racers.
Gui Robinson
Rob Raymer
Tony Little
Larry Johnson
Matt Hall
Gene Fleury has run a handful of high 9's on his 200 R4. I don't know how many street miles the car see's a year, but he is not shy! I would guess its upwards of 1000. His tranny builder is not well known in the Buick circles, but maybe he should be.
He is 'Geno' on Turbobuick.com

Before he went with the TH-400 Jack Cotton ran 9.70's-9.60's with a 200R4 (if I remember correctly he said it had no Billet parts).....
Eric Schertz is running high to mid 9's with a 200R4 that he obviously built.....

Eric Shertz built my tranny and swears it will hold up in a 9 second car. He said it has the same parts as his. We'll soon find out. So far it held up to 605 at the wheels.

We ran 9.55 w/Tweaked back when ... BEFORE the neat hardened parts for the TH2004R BUT... did not drive it 10K miles /year.
I don't know of many racers that would want to drive a 9 sec GN/T that many miles and use up motor.
A&W and Sonic are OK but not ...
The TH2004R is a VERY impressive piece capable of the power and the 10K drive. All that is needed is HP.
Have a nice day.
