Anybody used an Isky rev kit with S2 heads? The retainers are held down by the heads, but mine also have a bolt in one end of each retainer. It looks like they may have tightened the bolt head up against the valley wall with the heads in place to keep the retainer from rocking front to back.(?) You can see one of the bolts in the following picture...when the heads are on, it'll rest against the front valley wall.

Kendall,

I have an Isky rev kit just like that but I don't plan to use it. Both Comp Cams and Erson told me I didn't need it for RPMs below 7000. How did your jig work out for the Danny Bee thrust plate? I bought a cam from Lou C. that is machined for this setup and I'll eventually need to drill and tap some holes.

the jig worked out just fine..I actually made 2. I used it to drill my block and it worked beautifully. For anybody who wants to see how the rev kit looks w/the heads on, here you go. FWIW, that thing was a pain in the ass. The Cometic gaskets are cut straight across on the valley side; I had to clearance them for the rev kit. Then you have to put the head on, press it down enough to get a nut or two started, and draw the head down against the spring pressure. :elefant:

That front cover is a work of art. I wish someone would make them and sell a complete kit. I know the cost would be high but people who want the best would buy them.

Uhh..if yours truly would get off of his butt, something might work out in that area. :) We'll see...have to get my car done first.
