Went to Reynolds and ran my car for the first time with the Turbo Tweak chip and the Pac alky via Razor. i had to drive 2 and half hours so i wanted to take it easy. first run was a 12.488 at 111.57 mph with a bad 1.872 60 ft and no boost launch.this run was in the heat of the day probably 75 to 80 degrees, 2nd run was worse as i blew the tires away with a 5psi launch but still 111.30 mph at the end. i was very impressed as all i have ever run was race fuel in the car. Tuning was very easy. all this was with 21psi of boost and amoco 93. i am ordering some slicks, getting some more timing in the chip, and upping the boost to 23 and see if i can get this thing in the 11's before i get my new turbo and stall......Julio and Eric have some great products and great customer service :anbet: ..............thanks Bob :applaus:

That’s pretty good. Congrats! I have to finish my alky kit up. But know the season is over up here.

Have you thought about drag radials?

I Know what its like to have to drive 2.5 hours to a track. Where I live in Connecticut. Etown is 130 miles, Lebanon Valley 135 miles, and New England dragway 180 miles. I always have butterflies on the very first pass. Because it is a long walk home. :)

No tracks closer to you? 1/8 mile?

Man, that's really good with the stock turbo. I'm running similar with at TE60. I believe my converter is slowing me down though(old Pat's 2800 modified D5), my 1/8th is real slow...haven't gotten back to the track yet with Eric's chip and my big neck IC yet, but I'm thinking of putting the stock turbo back on since I don't want to change the converter until the trans has to come out (hopefully not for a while! :elefant: ) Otherwise my setup is similar to yours, can you post a bit more on your buildup?
I just love Alky tho, ever since I heard of it years ago I loved the concept of eliminating the whole "race gas mess" and having the power on the street. Now that there are more guys runnin' it, and all the help of guys like Eric, Steve and Razor...why would you run anything else? :anbet:

i have a track that is about 1 hour away(Carolina Drayway)i am going tommorow night :zahn: hopefully get me an 11 second time slip and waste a few lightnings....my setup is stock turbo unported at this time,009 injectors,cc980 valve springs, big neck stock intercooler, bgc 3" downpipe with atr 3" single shot (loud but worth it)Eric Marshall chip with the timing at 25-23(base timing was 21-19) but want more timing(another chip is on it's way)boost was at 21-20 on the runs in the sig...trying to get it to 24...rjc boost controller.....i am running 275 50 bfg dr's with ss lift bars and air bags but am having trouble hooking....i think a taller 275 60 dr would be better because i think i am topping out in drive...Razors alky was put on and i haven't really touched it..Turbo spool with the rjc boost controller is instant...the car is fun to drive on the street with no worrys about RACE fuel....i believe i am faster with the alky now then when i was on 116 but i never got the car to track to find out....i want a bigger turbo but i don't want to give up this instant spool :arco: man it is great........thanks Bob

With my 61 and 3500 stall converter I spool quicker than my stock turbo did. The boost controller sounds interesting. Keep us updated.

my friend has about the same setup as yours 86 gn with the te-60 but with a stock d-5, stock intercooler ,and smc alky kit..i ran him the second time 12.69 to his 13.09...i spun badly at the line and almost walked him down at the end....he needs a stall badly...i thought that 60 would spool alright with a stock d-5 but take a ride in a stock turboed car and you will see what you have been missing....i want a bigger turbo but i think it will be like a 44 or 49..i want something that will spool fast :arco: makes driving these cars a blast............................................. ...............Bob

before I got my converter put in it took about 4 seconds for my 61 to spool...with the new one its about 1.5. Would the boost controller help me out?

I do really need to get to the track

Robert, go to the RJC website and read about the boost controller that Jason sells or better yet call him. It is suppose to make it spool faster and i could tell a difference in spool as it is much quicker than with the stock office set up. It doesn't bleed off boost until it hits where you have it set at. The check ball in the boost controller is ceramic and very light so it reacts very quick. Very simple to hook up too...One line to the actuator and one to the compressor side of the turbo with the boost controller in between. Hope this helps.......................................Bob

That's a similar problem I have with my car. When I'm Bracket racing it will take it a few seconds to spool up and when the tree is counting down, well.... With the Carbed turbo setup in the olds, it was a smaller turbo and a 3200 stall converter. That cars stalled like it was a blower it was right there.

So I'm hoping Santa will get me a 10" 3000 stall lock Converter for Christmas.

I love it when people continue to run the stock parts untill they are maxed out. Hopefully with some tires I can get a low 12 out of mine as I already have the MPH for it with the stock turbo and intercooler.

Yes it is amazing how fast you can go with stock parts. i guess that is what makes these tr's so special...Yes 1bad tta you have great mph, you just need some stickys. How do you like that propain? i looked into that system before i bought the pac alky but didn't care too much for the tank..i have some slicks coming for mine..going for low 11's :essen: hopefully before my trans goes south..have the boost on 26 now with stock turbo  it kills the bfg dr's now at will :zahn: ...................................Bob
