Hi Guys.
I need a set of the old style Clevite 77-1398-H rod bearings ( they have a big chamfer) Clevite has changed the bearing to a small chamfer, my billet crank is a narrow journal with a big fat radius, can anyone help me out? I need STD size.

Thanks

Most good performance automotive machine shops have the ability to chamfer bearings for large radius cranks if you can't find those bearings :)

I can cut a larger chamfer on the bearings myself in the lathe, I,ve never did it before and thought it might cause the layers to unbond from the shell easier.

Thanks

I've ran bearings in my motors that had been chamfered on the lathe without any issues.........it's done all of the time :top:

I've done several that way as well..make a mandrel and hose clamp 'em to it, and cut away. Duttweiler does it all the time.
