Any sites out there that give some good groundwork info? I'm looking to do some glasswork in my M3 and have no clue where to even start.

Hey e-mail me direct - zam70400@yahoo.com. Let me know what kind of project/work you're doing, I'll walk you through it.

Fiberglassing is a piece of cake - have no fear (I love the stuff!).

Yea, I read a bunch of stuff yesterday on this audio site I found. Very good step by steps. Looks easy enough. I wanted to do something pretty basic, but now I'm looking at these wizbang setups and am like "Yea, that aint' too hard" :P

9th post down by Pmmeke....that's pretty much what I have in my head. Those 2 subs most likely have a glass enclosure underneath them in the spare tire well. I would do something similar but w/2 amps and the false floor like that so its all flush mount. Very clean, I like it. Not sure on the lights or not...

Yea, the GN is easy though since is SOOO big. You gotta be creative w/the BMW since there's a limited amount of space to begin with. I dont want to have something take up the whole trunk and think this may be the way to go.

none of the installs there are hard, just time consuming.
One thing to be aware of, just because it looks good, doesn't mean it sounds good.
Make it sound good first through some rough in trial and error THEN make it look good.
most of the sub installs displayed ther would NOT sound very good.
I've found that German cars in particular are tough to get good sub bass performance because of the solid metal panel seperating the trunk from the cabin.
The German engineers go to great lengths to keep noise from the trunk from reaching the cab (quiet ride) YOU, how ever, want to do just the opposite. Best solution is to cut a large hole in the metal panel or multiple smaller holes so the sound wave can do what the BMW engineers were trying to defeat (sound getting into the cab from the trunk). With out cutting the panel out, your sub performance will be very disappointing.

Yes, very true. The cars are VERY sound and tight sealing! You can remove the stock rear speakers from the package shelf and be good to go. Sometime over this winter I wanna get started..I have TOOOO Many projects going right now!

I attatched a pic of an install I did in a 66 Mustang. It has 2 Vega 10's and Phoneix Gold 5ch amp. Now he wants it done in fiberglass!
$800 in labor for the trunk plus $300 for the vinyl wrapping. And it hasn't even been shown!

That silver looking thing is black-it is the fenderwell! Must have been the flash! The vinyl is the same as the interior. Even though it was blue&white.
Customer is always right!
