View Full Version : RPM's Redlining under hard acceleration

My GN has started redlining when I get on the throttle more than say 50% or so. What happens is that I'll be cruising along at 30-50 mph and then I give it some decent throttle to accelerate quickly and before the car starts to move the rpm's spike to the redline then after that, prob about 1-2 secs, it kicks in. Now this hasn't always been the case and I am unsure what has caused it?

I have recently done the TV cable adjustment procedure from gnttype.org but when I did this it ended up going back to the same number of exposed ridges as before. I have also done the following mods this summer but had not noticed this until a few weeks ago so I would doubt any of these to be the culprit. The tranny is a PMC 2004R with a stock TC.

60# Mototron Injectors
Hotwired Walbro 340
Commander 93 Chip

Any idea what might be causing this? Tranny/TC? How can I determine if one or the other is the cause?

Sounds like it might be your tranny slipping
