Terry,

Sounds good!

I've actually spent some time and...gasp!...money on the Skylark over the winter. I hope to get it out and run it at least once a month. Hopefully this program will bring in some fast hardware to drool over.

Terry,

The Skylark got new 3" exhaust and X-pipe, a new TA rearend cover, a hood scoop (supposedly worth .2 on these cars. And the biggest improvement should come from a new set of tires (still haven't gotten those yet)

I hope to see 12.0's without to much trouble.

Are you going to put a rollbar in when you reach 11.99?

I'm not planning on putting one in my minivan.......that would look really funky :zahn:

My goal is the same as yours.I am just replacing the head over the winter. The new one has two cams and 16 valves

Terry, sounds exotic! Are you going to put the "formula atlantic" port job on it?

Dan, I can't recall seeing the white whale 340 Mopar at the track in this millenium...are you sure it still runs? :bud:

Geez Dave, what do you have in that beast :fragez: a 455 :fragez: 110 is pretty stout for a sleeper looking car

Dave's Skylark has 3 times the displacement of my minivan and it's only .3 quicker........half of that is most likely in the 60' time :elefant:

Looks like we got us a place for smack talkin'

"Dave's Skylark has 3 times the displacement of my minivan and it's only .3 quicker........half of that is most likely in the 60' time"

My best 60' time is something in the neighborhood of 1.85 so I doubt it. The drag radials are totally gone so I expect ET Streets to help a lot.

"Remember, I have 115 less ci."

Remember, the driver weighs 115 more pounds...not to mention the cars weight!

Rob, the Skylark has a warmed over 455. I bought the car for $6000, and it only took a $650 Holley carb to get it to run where its at. It's not usually my style to actually get a car to go quicker  I just got lucky and found a car that already had the parts, it just needed more CFM. The sleeper look is over, it will have a short hood scoop this year, and new wheels to go with the new rubber if I'm lucky.

The Buick V8 group is just as much fun as the turbo guys. Although the FAST cars are fewer and further between. There is talk of a new Buick V8 casting coming out which might help some of the guys step up.

Keep the smack coming boys!

You only ran quicker than me with open exhaust which isn't legal at PIR where we will be racing.........so we will all have to wait and see the new numbers :elefant:

Are you implying that you may need 3x the displacement plus the bottle to get around the 7 passenger four cylinder minivan??? :zahn:

Ok you got me there, but I think the new 3" X-Pipe system will come close to open exhaust...then again I might not make it past 10:00 at PIR.

It sucks being on the normally aspirated side of this argument!!!! :fechten2:

The Grey car might be going East soon...so you'll have to wait for Dennis to come down and race your Mustang Scott.

Still waiting on Woodburn to give me the TTV date...although that shouldn't stop us from having a planning meeting :rock_dj:
