I bought this amp: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7917403330&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT

the other day and to be honest it may have been a bad choice for what I have planned. Here is what I would like to do:

I want to put either a single 12" or 15" sub or Solo-baric in the trunk. Maybe two subs if that would be better.

As for the doors and dash I want the largest door speakers I can fit in the CSII pods even with slight mods in a component package with 1" tweaters up front. I have almost this identical setup in my S-10 with MB Quart and would love to use them again. Can all this be run off of this one amp or will I need another. What is the best way to work it? Maybe some sort of replacement for the 3.5's in the dash plus the 1" tweeter? Any ideas?

According to Crutchfields site, that amp will run 2/3/4 channel mode. Run it in 3 channel mode, 2 for front, 1 for sub in rear. Use high quality passive crossover components on the front and you'll be set. DON'T, no matter what you do, DON'T scrimp on the crossover components (i.e use metalized-poly caps) and you'll do well. Go ahead and load up the front channels to 2 ohms, just calc the crossover points properly.

Thanks! I didn't forget about the headrests. I have been busy with E-Bay and a bunch of other stuff. I will get around to them this weekend hopefully and get them out to you. Thanks!

You'll need that "tri-way crossover" run 3 channels. Another option would be the 2 subs, or a dual voice coil sub. Load the SUB channels to 2 Ohm, in my opinion. 2-2 ohm subs or 2 dual 4 ohm voice coil subs. Careful about the power ratings. If you run 2 4 ohm speakers in paralel on each of the front channels each speaker will get the same amount of power. i.e. 2 4 ohm speakers in parallel will look like 2 ohms to the amp = 200w RMS/2 =100W RMS per speaker. Finding a 3.5 or 4in speaker that can handle that much power may break the bank. I would run just one componant set up front put the 5 1/4's in the door and the tweaters in the dash. 4 Ohms 100W RMS.

Or the ultimate would be to use this amp just for the subs, and a seperate amp for the rest of the channels.

Hope that helps more than it confuses.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but if you decide to do something else, I'd be interested in the amp. It's perfect for what I need. PM me if you want to sell it.

Thank you for your time.
