Chris, I have several questions pertaining to my next tranny I am going to install in my GN.

1. The car is going to be capable of running mid 10's in race trim. It will see quite a bit of "balls to the wall" street running too. Is it possible to build a 2004r to live in this type of enviroment?

2. I would like to retain an overdrive tranny. If the 2004r can not be built to with stand this day in day out abuse, is there another OD tranny that can?

3. If I have to end up with a non OD tranny, what are your thoughts on a th350? Will it hold up?

4. I was looking on your web site and noticed you have a lockup option on your th400. I must say that caught my eye, what type of cost is involved in doing that?

My main goal is that i don't want to be pulling a tranny on a regular basis. I have several brf trannys that are stock and before I start investing heavily in one I would like to make sure that there is not a better option out there.

Thanks,
Davidthe best thing in overdrive transmissions for turbo buicks is our gm aod overdrive transmission.this thing will outperform and outlive a 2004r in all applications and also can be built with a 2.84 first gear ratio.no more burnt bands.if the car is very powerful you can utilize the 2.40 first gear ratio to gain traction and put the engine more precisely on the power band during ratio changes.light weight internals guarantee quick transmission spin up time and less flywheel horsepower absorbtion verses earlier design.bolts in with stock crossmember ,shifter, trans lines,.no special adapters or spacers .uses a hybrid convertor that can be built to just about any stall speed needed for a turbo car.also has a tv cable that fits right in place of the original gm with no modifications. :asskickin we will have a link on the site shortly showing the installation.also has a sfi approved bell housing .if you want a killer unit this is the way to go

Chris...what platform is the AOD built on? I assume it is some kind of hybrid but what is the hybrid built out of?

AN AOD is a ford transmission, It was available in just about all rear drive fords from the early 80 thru early 90s.

Whats your build ? Larry

My build up is
LT 72 with .63 ex
ATR 3 in dp
ATR headers
83 lb inj
Quad Air double pumpers
Champion irons with matching intake
224 roller with roller rockers
ME-R chip
powerstoke intercooler
Built shortblock with .030 TRW fp
You name it this cars got it except dfi and bb turbo

The reason I called CK in the first place is because I thought BT seemed a bit cocky and we all know how thats going

I really think this trans is going to be "the one" for people that want a bullet proof tranny thatll take 10s reliably without breaking the bank. Ill post back as soon as my engine/tranny is in the car haulin ass or breaking parts :daz:
