after reading thru the desc, i still dont see how you adjust it once its on the car? also, it does not exactly say how you can get more boost than that stock actuator will allow...basically if i set 25 psi can i get 30 from using this thing...and can i turn it down to 20 if need be? and how do i know im going to be upping/lowering it 5 or however much psi?

From what I understand, the function of the stock adjustable actuator does not change (turn in boost increase, turn out boost decrease). Per the description, this device enables the boost to come up faster to the set boost. Ws6formula50 has one. Please chime in...

The RJC unit is ggo dto 25 PSI. You set urs back to stock length, if its adj, Then you start adjusting the RJC unit. Turning the end with the 90* fitting in turns the boost up, all the way in is 25PSI. You jsut have to mess with it to find where 15 18 etc is. It does bring the boost up faster. there was a notriceable difference in spool up time on my car. I like it, however, You have to unplug 1 vac line to make the adjustments, unless I am doing it wrong. It is still easier than disconnecting the WG rod to set.
I like it none the less. :arco:

I bought one…works great! Spool up time definitely decreased. A bit tricky with a HD 20 psi actuator never the less I like it too.
Here is how it works on my car...it adjusts from 16(min) to about 20 psi (max) with HD W/G actuator rod at stock length, about 1/8" tension on the rod. From there I needed to shorted the rod to get to the ~23 psi I am running with alky. Post your results. Spool with the ball valve is better since my modified D5 isn't *quite* as much stall as I'd like to spool my TE60.

What # HD actuator do you have?
I have a 20# one. I can’t put any tension on the rod (hole on rod must line up with tab). With the actuator set this way and the boost controller turned in about three threads minimum boost 22#. Maximum boost don’t know I’m running pump gas. :zahn:
Oops, sorry. I have an adjustable actuator, I thought all the aftermarket actuators came that way. If your isn't adjustable (rod has threads on it to change the length) you'll need to modify it or get another actuator. There are instructions on the GNTTYPE.org site in the tech section. You'll need to shorten the rod a bit to make the boost go up :arco:
Vacuum, forgot to mention, if you don't want to modify actuator for adjustability (really SHOULD do this :albert: ) But you can snip a couple winds off the internal spring in the boost controller to lower the min boost.
How do you know you have a "20# actuator" (we're talking about the wastegate actuator right?) Do you mean it limits your boost to 20 psi? Or did you buy an actuator that stated it was a "20#"?

My 20# actuator is adjustable. I know its 20# because I bought it that way. The 20# is referring to the spring…20# spring = 20# minimum boost. Good point regarding the spring in the boost controller “snip off coils”. Have you done this and does it work?
