Alright, I will try to explain this as mush as possible. I had a perfecly working 200 in my gn. It was built by reputable guy in CT with some of Bruces parts. I decided to go NL and brought it to him for the change over. I asked him to look over it while it was there. He calls me and says it was perfect. I install the trans ans everything is fine until I realize I had no more reverse. hhhmmm. checked over everything, looks good. Fluid good, every gear is fine as well. I let the car sit for a couple of hours and try again, I got reverse but then when I go to drive and put it in reverse again I have no more reverse. Only that one time when the car sits and I start it for the first time. I brought this trans 2 times to this guy and he would tell me some BS excuse. I still have no reverse. I paid total of $250 plus 4 trips to CT to ruin my perfect trans. If I cant fix this I am going to CK when the car is running(this weekend).

thanks
Ralph
p.s, nothing else was touched in the trans or trans related. :dong:

There are several reasons you could have a reverse problem. Chris will be able to get you fixed up. Not sure there is anything you can do without removing the trans from the car.

verify engine braking in manual low .if it is not present ,suspect the low reverse cup plug is missing or leaking at the case,or the lo reverse clutch housing is misassembled.no valve in the valve body can cause this as reverse is fed straight from the manual valve to boost oil in the pump and seats a check ball to seperate it from the 2/3 shift valve.verify 55e and 55f check balls are present in the valve body or you may be exhausting reverse oil out of the valve body. :joint: :thrashi:
