Ken that is sweet, fill us in on your combo.

Pretty much the same as always ... just did some extensive headwork though with a flow bench.

The basics:

Stock block standard bore
Stock rods
BRC pistons
Stock heads, extensively ported with Manley valves
208/208 cam (an experiment with the Erson/Duttwieller grind)
Ported lower intake with EGR sealed
New and groovy MotoTron injectors (very linear and rated at 60# @ 3 BAR)
Steel mains
TTA crank (rotating assembly balanced)
PowerPlate
62mm throttle body (bored out stock)
1.65 roller rockers
105# springs (GM old style LT1/Stage 1 springs)
ATR headers
TA61 with Precision turbine housing

We'll be trying several things on the dyno:

PowerPlate/no PowerPlate
TA61, TA66 4 bolt (with 4 bolt headers), T70
Stock ECM, DFI, new EFI system

Should be fun and I hope to get some video!

Cool deal, keep us posted on the power plate. :arco:

You betcha ... I hope to learn some stuff (and see what the combo "wants" as far as fuel and such).

I'm hoping for high 500/low 600 crank HP numbers on a decent amount of boost (22 psi or so). Then we'll do a couple pulls for a "number" when the basic tune is figured out.

Should be fun! It's pretty neat being able to have full instrumentation for EGTs, boost, charge air temp, etc. ... should be able to learn some things.

Trade you TL vs. 2.1 for the motor.

I am HOPING this was a typo.....

I think you meant to say I

Me .. :arco:

I had them "show chromed" at a place in Omaha. I then used red model paint initially. Lately, I just used a "paint stick" (looks like a magic marker) to touch things up after they went thru the parts washer.

Hey Ken great looking engine. Would you mind telling me what you used for the red paint on the valve covers? :anbet:

I am interested to see the PP results and the difference between the two turbos, as well as the torque curves.

Good luck

See post above ... red model paint (and then touched up with the "paint stick" marker thingies)

Just found this thread while doing a search for TA61. Have you dynoed the different turbos yet?
