Ok I did some WOT @ 22PSI.

O2 seems high 848 and knock seems bad at 10*.

My fuel PSI at is 44 Line off? 39 Line on

What should I do , it seems rich up top but still knocks?

thanks

Did you try it at a lowwer boost to see what the O2s and knock are?

Might be rich knock- try to lower FP and see what happens. How much timing?

TIming is 22*. I lowered the Fp 2 PSI . I will test that.

thanks

Rich knock ? I've never heard of that. How does it occur ?

I don't know the physics behind it, but I've heard of it happening quite a few times before......anyone?

It's from unburned fuel igniting in the headers (outside the cylinder) where the knock sensor picks up the noise. (commonly called shooting ducks)

I have the turn on point set to 12-13PSI , should I leave it here or move it up or down?

thanks

Depends where the knock is- If it happens in 1st gear try to lower the set point and see what happens.

Also- not every car will see 22 psi with alky.....that is about a 30% boost increase... I've had calls claiming 24 psi, but some cars have a life of their own. Remember these cars will knock at around 16 psi, especially in the summer.

Steve/Razor,

Have either of you thought about putting up some How-To's on tuning an alchy system in? Maybe a nice post with a beginning to end way to approach it. I still think I have a lot to learn and it would be a big help. To a new guy what would your suggestions be?

Thats a good idea. Maybe post it in the library. Starting with the requirements
and preparations needed before installation. Maybe some installation hints,
and then the tuning procedures. :albert:

I had good luck with 43psi of fuel, low timing ~17-18, and 23-24# of boost and 0.0 KR. O2 was around 770mv. Turn on was at 10# of boost and cranked to 9. This was with a Thrasher 92 and TurboTweak chip. We tried running 19 degrees in the TurboTweak but couldn't run past 21# of boost without getting some KR. So Eric dropped it back.

My car didn't like timing in any chip I tried <shrug> It responded well with the above with both chips though.

Thanks. As an aside with the Thrasher 92 chip, I went 11.8@121.4 on a 1.8 short time. That was a modified chip for 50# injectors and was pig rich at launch but pulled like gang busters in 3rd gear. I was gaining 30mph in the last 1/8 with that chip!

The 11.6 run in the TurboTweak chip was Eric's first chip. It would lay down in 3rd gear, hence the low mph. It now has Eric's 3rd chip in it and now pulls great in 3rd gear. The car hasn't been back to the track yet with that chip. It should easily be 11.4, maybe better.

121 is great mph with the Thrasher. Hopefully, you can get that using Eric's newer chip.
