We just finished our TA block and installed it today. She sounds real mean and we will be putting some street miles on it this week. After its broken in we will be turning up the boost and knocking on the 9s. Hope to bring the car to Carlsbad for some summer runs as it is way to hot here to run it. We are planning on aug for a trip to Cali to enjoy the cooler weather and get some data logs. :arco:

Does a stock cam pos. sensor pop into the front cover or is something exotic going in there ?

BTW its one sweet looking engine like they say if it looks that good on the outside just imagine what the inside would be like.

Yes the stock cam pos. sensor bolts in.

Stock cam sensor will work, it uses a stock front cover. Right now we are testing it with stock, slightly modified motor mounts. Stock exhaust manifolds fit with some relief cuts to clear the 14 bolt TA heads. We used a BG customs intake manifold w/RJC racing power plate. Billit hyd roller cam, BMS stroker crank with chevy rods. CP pistons 3.90 bore.

I am held up holding for motor mounts. I am told by H&R the stock mounts will not work. I've been hanging with the motor for a month and ahalf now. Sure would like to know what you did to modify the stock mounts. I would do it now so I could get my mid plate cut and fit. Would you let me what you did to modify the mounts. larry Nice looking motor- best of luck with it.

It takes a small amount of cutting around the area that contacts the freeze plugs and some light grinding on the back of the motor mount.

P.S. Pitch Black and I took it out for a test drive last night and Holy Shit this is going to be one strong motor. It is about 100 degress here at night and the coolant temp ran around 180 and hot oil pressure at idle was 45 psi. I wasn't able to give it any more that 15 lbs of boost or more than 1/4 to 1/2 throttle due to the lack of traction on the street. This thing revs so quick you have to be fast on the shifter.

What size turbo are you using on the motor?

Just until the UPS man drops off a big package.

Our first tests are going to be made with the stock headers just to see how much we can gain from custom headers. We are currently working on a set of custom headers to install on the motor. The current turbo is a BB70 with a watercooled center section, because we had it. May end up with a GTQ74 in the future. The BB turbo sure is fun, due to the quick spool. More test drives tomorrow AM to tune the Fast and we should be able to take it to the track.

Thanks for the pictures. I talked to Paul at H&R about this. He believes they will not hold up. I am no expert on it, and I hope they work out for you. I deceided to hold for the new design. Looks like another week or so. I am happy to hear you are happy with the motor. Though mine is not running as yet- I have a good feeling about it and you have reinforced that. Givem Hell! :thrashi: Larry

Please let us know which one you guys like better. The Supra crowd says that the 74 takes a big steamy dump all over the BB70. The Turbonetics BB70 is what that one looks like if I am not mistaken?? :thrashi:
