Might be available at the local dragstrip or oval track. If not someone there is sure to know.

100 octane unleaded here is 4.75 a gallon

I'm out in the northwest burbs where there's several stations closeby.

Mobil on Rt 14 in crystal lake - Sunoco/CAM2 100 for $4.26

McClean Blvd Mobil in Elgin - Sunoco 100 for $3.79

There's a citgo or a unocal in Wonder Lake on Rt 12 that sells 110 (haven't been there in a while)

Another one in wauconda too.

check for Sunoco locations at www.racegas.com

Ok this is what I got…Fox Lake Citgo Rt. 12 and Rollins Road 110 leaded $3.99/gallon (just north of the Chevy dealership). You can not drive up and fill up. Car must be on a trailer or fill up gas cans.

Union Grove, WI Rt. 45 and next intersection north of KR gas station 110 unleaded (I believe) $4.26/gallon. Just west of the race track.

They sound like halfway decent prices. Here in NJ, I just paid $5.60/gal for Sunoco 111 at a fairly local station. At the track, 116 octane is $7.50/gal. There's another Sunoco nearby that sells 100 unleaded, but I don't remember what the price was.Does it really cost more to make unleaded 100 octane or is it just a demand issue?

It actually costs more to make leaded as the lead has to be put back in during the refining process.

This has always been a thorn in my side. :fragez:

The place I usally go to raised their price for 100 octane. It was $3.29 which I could deal with but I just went their today and now it is at $3.99. I guess it's time to get razor's kit.

Here the real kicker why did it cost more to buy UNLEADED fuel when it was cheaper to produce than LEADED :fragez:

GO figure, do you think we are still getting hosed.

I'm stupid. I just figured leaded cost more because of the limited demand and the likey over-restrictive environmental regulations the refiners must contend with.

As of last weekend, it was $4.59/gallon. Thats where I get it..at the Ledgewood Sunoco station on Howard Blvd.

Its funny, you'd think Race Fuel would be a little cheaper, or close to the same since there are no highway taxes paid on its use. I realize race fuel is mostly chemicals, which takes labor to formulate, but has it really changed? Are the chemicals that expensive? I mean, it dont matter to me, If I want it, I'll pay for it, just wish it was a little cheaper. Fortunately, I dont drive my Buick as much as my truck, so a 50.00 tankfull lasts me a month.

Oh, but I DO love the smell........

Can we use leaded fuels in our cars with no harm if we are not running a cat? What else does leaded fuel mess up besides the cat and o2's?
