i had my car on a lift, and was looking at my stock converter.. it says D6 on it, like embedded into the metal.. does that mean anything? or do all stock ones say that?

Stock should be D-5. I think the D-6 is a Monte converter. I also think the 5,6 and 7 designations stand for stall speeds. Where are the GM converter gurus?
