Well, first off I'd like to say this new board is pretty cool, and I am enjoying it so far. I post on TB.com and TBS.com occasionally, but for some odd reason I probably have more posts on here than on TB.com (i've been there since dec 2001).

Anyways, I think I win for the youngest, Asian GN owner. Seventeen, and 100% Korean. A long long time ago, in a land far away, I used to like imports. Yeah, I still like them, but I think I was a huge ricer back in the day (before F&TF came out). It was when I was maybe twelve or thirteen, I always wanted a Supra with the "Big Wing" and wheels. Uhg, horrible. A year later I talked to a few of my cool friends and that is what got me into American cars. I still am a fan of the imports, including euros.

I was supposed to get a GN for about 5500$ with 72000 miles on it last year as a first car, but I purchased an Escort instead. I didn't want to buy a car too fast for me for my first car. Now I am seventeen and finally have my dream car. Oh, I also like to ride BMX and I like listening to punk/rock/classic rock/classical/instrumental/hip hop/some metal. I soon hope to be a history teacher or get into law enforcement.

bought my first GN when i was 15. got it for 10thousand. car had 75k on it and was beautiful and all stock.

that car got stolen when i was 16. i than bought an 86 T type, rosewood. that car had too many things to fix so i sold it and bought the 87 limited below in my sig.

i love these cars. :thrashi: im 18 now and this T is my fave TR ive had thus far.

My name is John, been into Buicks for a few years now. Bought my GN in the summer of 99', knowing nothing about them other then a few friends telling me how great and fast they were. I bought the car for $6500 with 76k miles. Car was in OK condition, paint was pretty bad though. Never did any mods to the car, never really had the money I guess. Sold the car about a year and a half ago and bought a TTA with 25k miles. I did have the GN all through out 11th and 12th grade, and I also think I was the only one who knew what it was. The turbo is what got me hooked on these cars :) As of now I work at UPS, just over 2 years. Plans to drive for them eventually

Wow I'm starting to feel old :)

I'm 24 and have been into Trans Am's as long as I can remember, didnt realise how great the turbo buick motor was untill I bought my first T-Type,a white '86,in 1997.I still didnt know they even made TTA's at that point lol

Well 4 TTA's,another turbo Buick(87 GN) and several years later and I currently own 3 TTA's and an 89 GTA with turbo buick motor in it.Still miss my first TTA that I sold(#861,bought as a stolen recovery),damn thing ran good and was tons of fun(11.99@113 w/1.63 60ft on tweaked stock turbo/intercooler/injectors).

Hi. I'm Scott and I'm a boostaholic....
I was 18 when they made the 86 GN and I fell in love! I don't know why I piddled around until 2001 to buy one. I went thru a "must have a new car" phase. Well after 2 years driving a high mileage T, I'll NEVER buy another new car again. Aside from upgrading the wife's ride, I plan to get a TTA next.

Dave here, my username is my initials follwed by year/make of my TR.
I loved the GN's right when they came out. Bought one when I graduated from college and got my first real job. That was back in '91, a 21k mile T-Top
car. Today shes got 43k and just some bolt on mods.

Hi, I'm Rick and I'm also a boostaholic.
<all at once, "Hi Rick">

I had owned a bunch of 2nd gen T/A's and knew about the GN's and TTA's when a friend bought TTA #332 with about 28,000 miles on it. Well to make a long story short, he passed away and I ended up buying it in 2000.

Kenny on both TB.com and TBs.com (MIGHT be lc2kenny on TBs.com).

I'm 20, bought my Buick when I was 18. Had two small block El Camino's before I bought the Buick, decided I wanted a G-Body that could do what my small block cars could do, except not be loud, get gas milage and be daily driveable.

Car was stolen Oct 28, currently looking for a car to replace it.

I also like imports, and well, anything fast. I just bought a 91 Talon TSi as a winter beater (and believe me, it is a beater :D ).

You are talking about motorcycles, right, cus the words import and fast don't belong in the same sentence otherwise. :add_wegbr

No offense to the other 1% that own respectable imports.

Chuck here! Same handle used on TB.com and it's pronounced "trojan man".

I almost bought a brand new 1984 GN, but the payments were a little more than I could swing at the moment so I opted for a Blue 1984 Monte SS. That car was spunky and fun to drive. When I heard that Buick was going to increase the HP for 1986 I quickly traded the Monte in for a t-top GN in February of that year. It was my only car and my daily driver. I raced the car regularly and attended a few car shows and made alot of friends along the way. My GN was stolen in front of my house in 1993 and was never recovered. I still like to keep involved with the Buick community as I would like to purchase another one some day.

I work as a research associate in a small-scale pilot plant facility making 80-150 kg batches of Nair hair remover, Arrid anti-perspirant and of course, Trojan condoms.

my name is Don...d0n_3d on both boards...if anyone has ever wondered where the "3d" comes from, it's an old high school nickname given to me back when i played basketball because i was the leading three-point shooter in the area :)

i've been driving my GN since i was 15 also so i guess i can take some credit for being one of the youngest TR drivers...but my dad owned the car at the time obviously...when i turned 16 he told me i could drive the car all the time as long as i paid him for it...so i did...the car was bought from the original owner with only 26k miles and factory original down to the air filter...i drive it all through-out high school and have MANY memories with it...when i graduated at 18 i finally started modding the thing after i had learned what i actually had! 1 year later it was running low 12's with all stock main components...another year later it was running mid 11's with a turbo and injector upgrade...now at 21 and with about 100k miles on the clock it's time for a rebuild after blowing my first headgasket!!! :marchmell hopefully it will be in the low 11, high 10 second range by the time i am done with it...unfortunately money is a major issue for a poor youngin like me so i am going to be doing a "mild" rebuild...we'll see what happens...have had NOTHING but fun times with this car and you will have to bury me in my GN when i die :arco:

Jason here, aka SilverSleeper, on the 3 main Buick boards.
Im an old fart @25 here, but feel like 50.
I have had my Buick since I got my license at 16. Was really my grandpa's :yessir: car, only one he ever bought new. It originally had the 307/200-c/open2.14 combo as he had ordered it. I highly doubt the salesman even thought to offer the 3.8 option to him, but knowing him, he would have gotten it. He handed down several nice cars to my family over the years (including a 70's firebird 400/TH350). He passed on in 93, my grandma let it sit in their garage until she passed on in 95. I got it just in time to take my drivers test in it. Replaced the original motor/trans after 120k with a low mile 87 GN drivetrain, probably about 4 years ago. Now sits in a "temp garage" at my fathers house, waiting for me to come up with the funds to undo the many years of damage from the harsh NY winters. :gost: It has a limited-esque exterior, with a stripped interior (only big options were locks and lighted mirror). Looks like it weighs a lot, but its really a light car. :racer: Since its been in hibernation for the past year, I havent been involved with the Buick boards as much as I used to, but Im still around.
Been a drummer for 15 years, also record my own stuff with a small home studio. :thrashi: I have also done car audio installs on the side, almost got certified MECP, but no big market for installers here anymore. Current job is a pricing coordinator for a mid-size chain store, been 6 years doing that. :stupid: Had my experience with 455 Buick power also, will get another someday. :arco:

Mike here, "mgmshar" on both boards. I'm 30, have had the GN for about 3-1/2 years now. Wanted one in high school, now I've got one. I'm one of those engineers that everyone curses. Been working in the auto industry around Detroit (mostly in engine component design - valve train stuff) since 1996.

My '86 had 29,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2000, has about 35,000 on it now. It was mostly stock at the time of purchase. I still have never had the heads off (crossing my fingers as I type this). My goal is to make it a consistent, very streetable mid-11 car on 100-octane fuel and the stock engine. I'm pretty much there, just need to figure out some traction issues (a good problem to have!).

About me...I'm 26, Married and have 1 son. I've been lusting after GN's or just Regals in general since I can remember. My very first car was an 85 Regal NA that had 60K miles on it. Had it for a couple of years before it was stolen a week before christmas of '97. I hope to one day have another one. Even if I can't afford a GN, I will settle for a NA, and drop a V8 in it. Now that I am getting restitution money from the guy who stole my car 7 years ago, he can someday buy me a new one :D

My name's Chris Wren. I live here in Bielefeld, Germany with gn85girl. Before anybody asks, I don't have the GN here. I wish I did. It's in semi-storage until I return to the states.

It's a long story why I'm here. No, I'm not a fugitive. :) I teach English here in Germany. Before that, I was a teacher in the states. I lived in Maryland. I taught middle school for three years.

My GN is an 85, but I've converted it over to 87 drivetrain. It's a never-ending work in progress. Can't wait to visit this summer and wrench some more on it.
