I got back in the saddle today and bought an 87 Turbo-T. Its Bill Mannes' old car. It's a rosewood car with burgundy interior, buckets and a console with nice wheels and a fresh motor. Last time out Bill ran a 12.22 with it...so I should be able to slow it right down from there

Anyway its my daily driver which was the intention...its great to be back!!!

Hey Dave, is that the other burgundy car that was there last year?? If it is, that is the car that eliminated me last year. Nice guy that owned that. Atleast we know it went to a good home. :applaus:

Pat, the car was there last year but I don't think he went any rounds with it. He said he left early because the heat was so brutal.

Pat,

Thats the plan, if all goes well I'll make a couple passes on Friday, but I won't race it on Saturday...I hope to be busy pretending I'm "race director". I have just as much fun milling around and checking out everyone else as I do racing. Plus, this year we might have some sledge hammer 8 second cars to watch :racer:

Well, I'll get to see what I missed out on Dave, haha. Last weekend at Mission Raceway, Steve Kelly, I believe (he has a red stocker or superstocker El Camino) told us about a nice burgundy t type for sale by a guy named Bill Mannes. I guess I snoozed, cuz by the time I got home, it was already bought by YOU LOL. I knew there were two there at TT4 , really clean older one, but is this the one that I ran next to? I did a time only next to a burgundy one last year with my truck. I knew there was a slower one and a faster one there.

Mine was the real clean older.... it's real, not so clean, and still old now but it isn't nearly as slow as it was last year. Got alot of bugs worked out last week and still working some of them out now. Starting to have some problems with the paint job I got about 3 years ago and it is starting to make me angry. Maybe this year I can run against one of the Sy/Ty crowd.....should be fun.

Pat, I hope I make it there to see you run this year! Yep, Gene said that was you in the burgundy car.. I have a bunch of pictures of everyone, including a few of your car, and a couple of the two of us running along side each other.
It was a fun weekend, wasn't it? It was hot, though. The track temp sign in the burnout area said 134+ degrees most of the time.. we were there three times over the summer. They kept running out of ice LOL... :fad:
Hopefully by TTV I will have a buick of my own

You should try one of these instead of ice. :arco:

I don't see why not....I am planning on running the air intake system on my Civic cold air intake I have on the buick. Probably will run the fuel block also.

Sorry Wanda!!! I do know of a clean 87 Turbo T in Eugene, OR. Its a stocker with a bench seat/column shift. Its advertised in traderonline.com for $8000

The one I got definitely needs some interior TLC but its got some goodies (Fresh motor, Houston pipe, new exhaust, shift kit, etc) It ran a 12.22 @ 109 last year at Turbo Thunder, and that was in the 90 degree heat.

See you in a couple months...hopefully you'll find something nice!

PS. Its a small world, I know Steve Kelly from PIR and Woodburn, he's been doing good since he started racing in Stock Eliminator.
