Just finished putting on my 2nd coat of Z5. If this is what the Z5 looks like, I can't wait to put the Z2 on it. As a side note, even though the car wash smells like grape bubble yum, it does not pass the taste test. :D

I'll let this pic speak for itself.

Yea, I just finished the M and it came out great. I have sample of Tropicare coming from Steve and I'm gonna do the Tahoe. I'll post pics when done. With all this pollen, it's time to wash the M again! sheesh.

How good does your paint have to be to use the zaino product? I will be clay baring it first but is is an 86 with oringinal paint which means no clearcoat. The paints not it that bad of shape except the roof is hatching.

I bought some from a local distributor. They told me you had to have really good paint to see benefits from it. I tried it on the GN and it wasn't that great. I am putting it on my new black Durango and it seems to be working well. I do know that Zaino will not cover water spots or remove them.

Usually the clay will remove the spots. Also, they have a product for older non clear coat cars and it does a good job..even on stock crappy OE paint.

I cant' stand Zanio. Maybe I'm wrong, but my friend is a body man and laughed when I bought it. He claimed 3M products work just as well if not better. Anyways, I followed the directions to a T and was hoping it would help my crappy paint. To prove a point I did one side with zanio and the other with 3m Hand glaze then a Meguire's Cleaner Wax. On a car with less than perfect paint Zanio was terrible. Not to mention the price of it. Reading the instructions Zanio even says something about being 99.whatever% optically perfect. That kind of explains why it works so well on nice paint.

Wish someone would have told me about that before I bought the stuff.

I've used it with great success. One one car the paint was swirled to all hell. It did an awesome job of filling the swirls and sealing them...looked like a mirror when done. I know Doug Hauser uses it on everything of his with excellent results. It's all in the prep. Did you wash with dawn soap frist, then clay, then wash again?

I know that I have had great results with mine. I will be using it on all my vehicles from now on.

I really resisted Zaino until I finally gave it a whirl on my Ram-Air TA. It turned out awesome! I even had to do it in the sunlight one day and it still turned out great. Ever since I have only used Zaino and turned several others on to it. #1 in my book.

Never used Clay.

There's your problem. You gotta use clay! Especially the 1st time doing it. Get off all the oxidation and contaminents. You'd be amazed how much crap and gritty shit is in the paint that you dont' really notice till you do a section of the hood and feel where you clayed and where you didn't. I only clay once a yr.

I've never ever used a clay bar. Seems I might have to give it a try on the Mustang since the GN doesn't need it anymore. It was just painted. Maybe now Zanio will look good, but I still say you can't beat the ease of the NXT wax. :applaus:

Any good vendors carry this stuff or do I just get it straight from Zaino?

Ya where can you get Zaino at?

I've been using clay bar for a while I stated it in another post I call it miracle bar. It will take off overspray and oll kind of stuff. Just leaves car feeling baby soft but its just like a baby unprotected from the world so as soon as your done get a protector on it.

Question for you all.....

My 87 GN has its original paint. Is it clearcoat or not? I thought it was and have been zainoing with 2,5,6.........was that wrong?

Original paint is not clearcoat. It's laquer.

I too was skeptical about Zaino on my 13 year old Factory Syclone Paint. I followed the directions to the letter and I can tell you the Syclone has never looked better.

Correct. It was not uncommon though for dealers to apply clearcoat over the laquer! 86/7 Clear was relatively new and as we now know the 2 are not compatible...those are the ones you see scaling bigtime now...

I agree, Zaino is definetly the best on good paint. I use it exclusively. The Z-16 detail spray is the best. I get great results and alot of compliments on my finish.
Prep is the key and following the directions to a T is a must!

I am pleased with the end result of my car after zaino. The instructions are really picky but if you follow them it will turn out awesome. My car has been painted but it's 9 years old and not what I would call perfect. No clay bars or dawn dish soap either. Applied it right over top of the Meguiars swirl remover that I buffed on with a foam pad. Got me a car show plaque because of it (2nd in my class). :applaus:

As stated several times. The key is very clean paint. I clay my typhoon twice a year since it's my daily driver and it's white. I use mother's caruba wax on it to provide the best protection from the elements. The clay removes all those tiny specks of tar makes the paintsuper smooth and the truck looks perfect. I get alot of compliments on it. My syclone, even though it's garaged, I clay that once a year. Then used zaino polishes. When I detail cars I used a variable speed buffer, 3m foam pad and 3m micro compound to cut the paint first, a machine polish and then the zaino products last. At car shows the z-16 detail spray and a 3m Perfect it detailing cloth makes the paint look like glass.

zaino is a great polisher, i bought the kit last spring and have put it on my black Ty and also on my mothers black Lexus RX300. It really makes the paint have a deep and wet look.

NXT wax is also really good.. it takes very little time to put on compared to zaino and has a very nice results, only downside is it doesn't last as long as zaino so you have to reapply it more often.

I'm trying to figure out why everyone thinks Zaino is so expensive...
For the amount you use - it goes A -longgg way.

If you initially order everything - yes, it's expensive...but so is eveything else you'd buy (if buying the same things - clay bar, hand glaze, wax, detail spray).

I use the Z2, Z5 & the spray (Z7?)
It all goes along way, just don't use more than you need to (like eveyone does)

I can do my entire car in 2 cap fulls of the stuff.

The shipping on zaino is crazy. If you only want to replace a bottle of detail spray, shipping is like $9.

Zaino contains no abrasives, so it will not clean or remove any maring or swirling. PREP is the key to any perfect finish. Once prepped properly, Zaino will show what your paint is suppose to look like! Zaino Z5 will hide some minor swirling but will not remove them.
